At this point, if the Jets could get anything for him (which is doubtful, given the price tag, and terrible play so far this season), it would be better than anything else. The Jets are obviously going to be trying to fix a disaster next offseason, with many holes to fill, so there's no question they'll be spending more in FA than they lose, so any potential for a comp pick will be quickly wiped out. Lowest in the NFL but what the announcers didn't say was the lack of production from those GUYS! If we had taken offensive players only & filled the defense with 1 year contracts for safeties & DTs, fans from other teams might have turned on MNF & said, wow, what an exciting game, the Jets defense sucks but at least the game was watchable & they scored 35 points & lost by 3. Last night was like a car wreck but I wanted to hang in there to see who had heart, who hustled when the chips were down ect, Bell was just amazing & he was right about not wanting to play for the Jets unless they gave him more money than any other team. Cashman stood out, Hairston played balls to the wall, Basham, most of the D, Leo was a DOG! missed tackles & I don't think his name was spoken once? I did watch him all night. He had times where he was passed from one OL to another when they zoneblocked but he was never double teamed, and certainly not triple teamed.
