Pretty sure if they cut him, they'd lose any compensatory pick they would have coming when he leaves in the offseason..  The Jets need all the picks they can get.

When was our last 1st round pick a success???  2017? When we had big need at QB but chose Adams and left Watson and Mahommes on the board?  The Jets just suck at life.

I've never seen a worse combination of salary and production.  One of the most overrated players I've ever seen.  He's dead weight.  Use the roster spot to develop a young guy who might actually have

Trade him nows the time for JD to earn his salary and do his job, go at it hard and heavy call every team see what we can get for him.

End this once and for all.

Another DL #1 draft pick failure.

Dude who in their right mind is going to trade for Williams?  He has a bloated salary and can't play for sh*t.  He's not worth any draft picks.

He is fairly highly regarded around the league.  He could fetch something.  Waiving him would be dumb.

His contract ruins his trade value. We can’t get anything for him. Might as well use him as a backup when Q comes back.

Your comparison is BS.  Adams, Robby, and Darnold have all had big moments of production for this team.

Leonard WIlliams hasn't done a damn thing here in the past 3 years other than take up space, which we can find someone else to do for 1/4th the price.

Not good enough. Cut them all. That will teach the team who’s boss.

Yeah but we are going to acquire more free agents than lose. Comp picks are not realistic given where we are. It’s frustrating and comp picks are HUGE for good teams to re tool. We are too active in FA and will continue to be. Plus his value is plummeting more and more. He’d only net a late round pick if we qualified for a comp pick which we won’t. Just have to cut our losses.

He’s worth jack sh*t. I watched the Dline especially yesterday. Leonard Williams is just a total jag, he got out played by the rookie in Phillips.

I think a fire sale is coming week 7.

Assets I could see us move:-

Lev Bell. (Second rounder).

Jamal Adams. (Second rounder).

Leonard Williams. (5th rounder).

Cutting Williams for nothing to send “a message” is beyond dumb

It's not just to send a message - it's also to free up a roster spot for someone who might actually have a future on this team beyond this season.  It's not like we'd be losing production, because Williams has been so awful.

The Jets already "sent a message" by trading Darron Lee and cutting Jordan Leggett.  It hasn't done much.

Leonard Williams is a JAG but provides decent depth.  He's making too much money, but what's done is done.  Cutting him for nothing with nobody on the roster to replace him would not be a good move.  It's his last season here.

Cut Bell too. That useless prick can’t even average 3 yards a carry. RB are a dime a dozen, you can get them anywhere. Joe! Go to Walmart and get us a real RB.

Trade for picks, not cut..

No argument, he's a Ghost (Gholston?) out there.

By who?  I don't exactly hear the airwaves full of praise or respect for him.

Such as?

I know, I know: His bloated salary is guaranteed.  But who gives a crap?

The Owner, I presume.

He's a liability at this point and no team in their right mind is going to trade for him.

Perhaps.  Perhaps not.  He's not getting cut or traded, so the point is moot.

Imagine Maccagnan wasn’t fired?  This f**kin slug would be handed a double digit in the millions multi year contract for the sole reason that Maccagnan would not want to own another busted pick, especially one of the last of the Mohicans still on the Jet roster.

By doing that Maccagnan de facto said “Christian Hackenberg is an NFL QB”.

I don’t think there has ever been a less qualified individual to ever sit in GM job.

But, again, the gutless Adams pick was first and foremost to protect his own job.

Trade for anything, but not cut. They need every resource they can get. Preferably trade him to a terrible team if the offer is no different cause F him (#6 overall, what a joke).

It’s actually bad for the NFL brand that Lev Bell is a NY Jet (having that so called OL in front of him).

Don’t worry he won’t be a Jet by week 8.

I wouldn’t care if he was here for the duration of his whole contract if the initial bogus reports were correct on him, by they were not, he gives it his all and even appears to care.

He doesn’t deserve getting hit the second he touches the ball or the sh*thole also known as the NY Jets.

I hope they do let him go because forcing him to stay is not fair.
