He’s versatile I thought he had a chance to stay because of that

The ideal good offensive line would have a quality backup swing tackle and interior OL like Dozier. Backups playing multiple positions well is great for depth and worth the investment.

Didn't that guy really suck for us like liability everyplay?

Maybe I'm remembering that wrong.

He was a backup that never sniffed the field, so definitely not every play.

He also looked like crap when he did play in the preseason....I'm surprised he's still in the league.

Not that it is everything, but let’s compare Dozier’s PFF grade to Winters’ tomorrow.

I actually thought their OL grades are pretty accurate/meaningful.

My guess is that Dozier’s is higher.

Nobody loves their JAGs like Jets fans.

Vikings Oline has been their Achilles heel. Another team with weapons that can't use them. Oline is important.

I liked Dozier and thought he should find a spot somewhere around 8th or 9th on the depth chart, but I think Compton is now the guy you describe.  He's a little better and more experienced than Dozier, and can play both OG and OT.

Idzik at least picked olineman and though none were great most of them stuck around in the league for a few years.

Winters, Dozier, Aboushi.  Out of 4 olineman that ain't bad.  Too bad Idzik could not scout at all because is actual plan of positional picking was way better than Mac and his 5 years of pain.

I always thought Aboushi was better than Winters. Played really good at G. I think he now starts for Houston.

Of course he’s playing. His old jets OL coach is his coach with the vikes. Did Sanjay Lal bringing Chaz schilens over to the Jets make him good?

He was actually better than he gets credit for....if you go back to the games in recent years where we had an absolutely dominant running game(yes, there have been 3 or 4) Dozier was usually in the line-up. He never got a sniff at Centre which is where he was supposed to fit in after being drafted but on the rare occasions when he stepped in at OG we put in our better OL performances.

It’s so bad we are lamenting the loss of Dakota Dozier..

Remember when we had Matt Slauson good times..

Could we be more SOJ.?

How about when we backed out of our handshake deal to pay Pete Kendall a lousy $1M? This has been a team that historically farts all over the OL while treating DL like kings.

Hopefully Joe Douglas ends the madness.

But start a thread about C-Mart or Revis and watch the hate roll in. Strangest thing ever. Worship our bench guys, denigrate our HOFers. Mommas don’t let your sons grow up to be Jets players... unless they are JAGs!

Or whoever the backup QB is.  They're always revered here.

The "Bollywood" hype is something every Jet fan should be ashamed of.

I do not have PFF Edge.

Dozier has played 150 snaps this year for the Vikings and his PFF rating is 46.7

Winters has played 185 snaps and his PFF rating is 57.0.  He has looked pretty bad earning that PFF grade, so I can’t imagine how Dozier has looked.

In 2018 Alex Lewis played 707 snaps and earned a PFF grade of 49.3.

In 2019, Osemele’s grade on 185 snaps is 57.6, basically the same as Winters.  In 2018 on 735 snaps it was 53.7.

In 2019, for kicks and giggles Ryan Kali’s grade for 167 snaps is 45.8.  I guess Harrison played 8 snaps.

So moving on from Dozier, keeping Lewis on the bench and the overall play of the line all makes sense based on the PFF data.   Someone who knows better can tell me what the average score of a functional OL should look like, but my guess it is in the 60s.   This is not a problem being solved this year.
