This is something I could envision us winning.

Isn't the pick based on strength of schedule?  Outside of Buffalo every team we have played has been playoff caliber team.

We aren’t getting a Top 5 pick, much less the #1 overall pick, unless they suddenly decide to shut down Darnold for the year.

Tua Tagovailoa

Justin Herbert

Jake Fromm

IF Sam Darnold fails us the remainder of the season we have options.

IF he plays well enough then we need OL,WR,CB

I was thinking about this on the way to work. If the Jets end up with the first overall pick and the Dolphins end up with the second overall pick, I do wonder if Douglas can realise the haul of picks we would expect, given the Dolphins could determine they like both Tua and Herbert and are happy to take whichever isn't taken first.

Options to stick behind this same sh*t OL and WR corps?

No way I’m in favor of ditching Darnold after 2 seasons and trying to replace him with a lesser QB prospect while sticking them in the same situation.

Our 1st round pick absolutely has to be either a LT or WR.

Hell, if it was up to me every single draft pick and free agent dollar would be devoted to the OL and bringing in receivers.

IF he flat out stinks it up the NY Jets have no choice.

Step 1.  Put Darnold, Bell, and Mosley on IR to ensure the top pick.

Step 2.  Fire Gase.

Step 3.  Trade down for a HAUL.

Step 5.  Draft OL and skill players.

Step 6.  Win 47 Superbowls in a row.

Nah.  Our schedule gets easier starting week 8. And Sam will prob be back by then.  We’ll win enough games this year to not be picking top 3.

I'm not fussy I would settle for a few over a 10 year span.

Sure they do

They have the choice to build up the offense around him and not be jackasses for a change.

Who the hell are the offensive skill players and OL that this silly ass team has drafted over the last half a decade?

Chris Herndon, Brandon Shell and Chuma Edoga?

Who else?

That’s just absurd.

Build around the talented young QB that miraculously fell into your lap just less than 18 months ago.

Just 3 weeks ago Darnold was the savior. Then he gets some flukey illness that keeps him out for a month and some of you are already wanting to jump ship. It’s dumb.

I hope he is the savior and the franchise QB we all hoped for and this organization needs.

Anybody who thinks this must think that Darnold is not the answer at QB. The only way we’re competing for a top pick is if Darnold has a mono relapse and they IR him or if he’s terrible when he comes back.

Even if he doesn’t play well the rest of the season, the priority should be offensive line in next years draft and free agency.

I honestly don’t care which pick we get anymore. I can’t remember the last time after a draft I felt excited

I am not sure where everyone gets this thinking that we have a "cakewalk" after the next few games.

Yes, we play Miami twice, Washington and the Bengals.

But Jax, Buffalo, Oakland, Giants, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh are not "cakewalks."

And lets remember, we are 1/4 of the way through the season and as of right now, the offense has scored 17 points.  In four games.  FOUR GAMES. The defense has still scored more for us (22).  We have scored a total of 39 points in four games, while we have punted the ball 32 times.

We could just as well finish 1-15 as we do 6-10 or 10-6.  This is a bad football team that will, hopefully, with two solid drafts and FA periods, will be ready to compete at the end of Darnold's rookie contract.

We were in the Buffalo game and they’re a good team.  We also play the dolphins twice

Sorry.  Maybe its because we suck so bad that every team feels like a SB contender.

Can’t wait for the annual meaningless wins debate. Gonna start earlier than usual this year.

We lose to the Fish at least once. Bank on it.
