Not a mafia game

Recommended Posts

Hey so I was digging through my closet the other day and I came across my small collection of Dungeons & Dragons Choose Your Own Adventure books. I read a couple when I was younger and then when I was in a second hand book store in my 20s I bought like 4 or 5 I'd never read before. The thing is I never ended up reading them. So that's where you guys come on. I was wondering if anyone here would like to explore one (or more) of these books together with me?

Here's how it will work, I will type out the story for you to read and each time we come to a choice I will present you with your options and as a group you will discuss what you want to do and vote on which path to take as if you were playing mafia (majority wins but hopefully you guys wont be too divided). Each time you take a path that leads to death I will randomly kill off one of the people participating so they no longer have a vote and I'll revert you to the last choice you made so you can continue until you run out of "lives". Whoever is "alive" when you reach a good ending "wins".

Please leave your comments (inb4 NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERDS) and clearly signal if you're interested. Thanks.

Sure, sounds like it'll be less involved than a game of Mafia, and Jets football is basically comatose at this point, so why **** not?

In.

Cool cool! I'm thinking I'd like to do this with a minimum of at least 2 or 3 people so hopefully someone else is interested too.

Sure if you want. You can follow along.

Sounds like you are trying to get us to do your homework for you.

No lol. I just never read these ones before and I thought it would be more fun doing it this way than just reading it by myself.

Great. So it's you and Spoot so far.

You guys know which book you want to check out? I think the Volturnus one is a sci fi instead of a fantasy

I've never played at all. So "beginner" sounds just perfect for us, lol

My memory is it will be pretty simple choices like there is a fork in the road do you want to go left towards the village of right towards the forest. Stuff like that.

Well, "Dungeon of Dread" reminds me too much of the Jets, so how about any other one? Come to think of it, anything with the words "doom" and "nightmare" in the title also remind of the Jets, too.

Honestly, I'm cool with any of them. Just joking around.

How about the one that's first, chronologically?

Dungeon of Dread? Sure.

We'll probably start tomorrow since all I have to do is type out the first few pages.
