this seems like @T0mShane s perfect price range

He messaged me he is waiting for a 50% off groupon.

I hope we can get this rolling. If we get a serious group playing on a regular basis we can adjust the amount. We have a dedicated rep at FanDuel that will create the league for us each week.

you wont get 90 guys..  you should open it up to 5 or even 10 entries per person..  $10 or $20 is nothing.

Fan Duel makes the rules on the league size. We don't need 90 though, there are only 50 spots.

yup, read it wrong... not sure why they're doing single entry that's dumb.  I think they'd get 100 if they made it $5 with up to 5 entries.

I am not sure, they didn't ask for my input, they just created the league when I asked. So hopefully we fill it up and they give us the ability to adjust it in the future.

I'd get 5 teams every week at 5 a pop.

Well 11 spots filled so I guess we got our answer on if 50 will play or not. Still surprises me though, I seem to get a ton of people asking for the league. I guess I should keep a list through out the year when people ask for it.  :)

FanDuel isn't paying us to post the league, so it is okay if people don't want to play. I do think it would be a cool thing to get going.

I'm not sure if this is fantasy or some kind of weekly pickem but just wanted to comment that while a $2 buy in seems like a low barrier to entry that would encourage sign ups, for some it might not be enough to make it worth the effort.

A big prize pool is often a bigger incentive and having some skin in the game encourages weekly participation. The last time I entered something like this with a small buy in I had started to forget to even select games by week 3 or 4.

Before the commodities exchange went digital thier survive pool was up to about 200k for first place. I think buyins were like 220  or 165 (200 /150 to prize pool, 20/15 to league manager)  but it grew like wild every year due to the big prize.

No offense, but Draft Kings and Fan Duel are rip offs, IMO.

Lol, just because you can't win doesn't make them rip-offs. You have to go in knowing that the odds are stacked against you and either do it for fun or invest the time to learn how to increase your chances at winning.

In the end, it's kind of like playing a lottery where skill can increase your chances over the other players.

I agree. I think Fan Duel might be testing us this week to see how we do. I would like a bigger prize pool with multiple entries in the future (hopefully next week).

Just like when you visit a casino. You count the money you bring as already spent and limit it to that and you have a good time. Go in expecting to win and you're screwed.

Cool. I guess theres the whole internet bragging rights aspect but only potzers like T0m care deeply about such things.

Sad.

I don't think making it worth the effort would be such a great idea.
