This is how you attack the Patriots. You can't let them just take away the 1st read & freeze in the pocket. Sam has got to use deception Monday Night & look off these WRs to keep the Pats D honest. He has to get those quick throws outside & force Van Noy & Hightower to cover in space.

This is the stuff that you can not really teach, you have it or you don’t.   We all saw what it looks like when a QB can not process info quickly (Luke Falk).   The ability to move in the pocket and sense pressure is also another trait that’s instinctual for a QB.  Sam posses some great traits, they just need to support him and he will win a lot of games for you.

In this one, he is flat footed with both feet pointing out and his shoulders square.... There is no reason he should throw this accurately

This is why getting too caught up in mechanics can cloud peoples judgements when evaluating QBs.  It’s all about how the ball comes out of his hand and if it’s delivered where it needs to be.  Some guys just posses the ability to throw from all platforms and arm angles.

Winters gets a lot of stick here and deservedly so but that first play he does a nice job of running his man outside and chipping the other rusher, Kahlil on the other hand nearly gets Darnold killed when he vacates his gap and is left floundering when the defender stunts down the middle.

Count how many times a QB throws with perfect mechanics during a game. Maybe a few?
