Jumbo2927
Conversation Bob Wischusen @espnbob Amazing how all the Yankees analytics is about minimizing starting pitching, get out before you see the lineup a 3rd time, etc.. And look at their 2 wins v the Astros..biggest factors in both? Tanaka and Paxton doing the exact opposite of the analytics formula they use all season

JetPotato
22 hours ago, SAR I said: Next year we'll get Cole and a couple of contact hitters with speed and that will be that. SAR I Anyone paying any attention whatsoever knows that Cole is not coming to NY. The "west coast" thing isn't the reason, either. Boras and his client will simply go to the highest bidder, which will not be the NY Yankees. If it's a west coast team, pure icing for him. Cashman and Hal are risk averse when it comes to starting pitching. They have convinced themselves it doesn't matter much anyway. And to top it off, it's evident that Hal, unlike his father, is completely unwilling to go the extra mile to win it all. He his content building a roster that contends every year, sells tons of tickets and makes to the playoffs. If they don't win it all, he's perfectly fine in his cashere and gold pajamas. He's a lot like the Johnsons. Inherited daddy's stuff, and does just enough to not lose it. But wouldn't know how to successfully execute a bake sale, let alone a championship organization. George understood that the Yankees unprecedented brand was built winning rings, and anything less was unacceptable. Hal is cut from much weaker cloth. George hired the people that won the late 90's championships. He also won in the late 70's multiple times before all that. And 2009 was on his watch as well. Hr bought a team for a few million and turned it into something worth BILLIONS. So much for "running it into the ground". Meanwhile, since he has gone, his sons have won absolutely nothing, and the Yankees are no longer viewed as the top franchise in the game. Barton
After the first inning, Verlander essentially pitched a perfect game. Not really confident we will score runs tonight. Mike Ford hit about .330 with a .420 obp and big hits the last month or so of the season, and the guy cant even get put on the roster. Yankees never seem to make the right calls and instead placate to the big name/big salaried guy who is struggling. Play the hot bat. Are we trying to win games here or go home feeling good we gave guys a pat on the back?
Barton
I'd also like to note that Gary Sanchez doesnt even have his head in the game right now. His at bats are worse than Arods when he was invisible in the mid-2000's playoff runs. At least you could say Arod was a HOF player - who the F is gary sanchez anyways? This guy wont even be on the team in 2 years. Bench his a$$ or put a hot metal prod on it. Unbearable to watch.

No surprise we couldn't hit him after the 1st. I think we can get to their bullpen, I'm just worried about our bullpen being worn out and the Astros bats coming alive. The Jeter era was only able to happen because he was thankfully banned from baseball while Gene Michael built a dynasty. And in the 1970s it was Gabe Paul who was able to keep his madness in check. The Steinbrenner you describe is a fairy tale.
