IF the Jets are to win vs Pats who (besides Sam) needs to step up with a great game?

Recommended Posts

He's not under the radar but is someone that in the small sample size I've seen makes about a big a difference as anyone we've had around here in a long time (not named Darnold) - CJ.

The Pats always have our defense running around like chickens with our heads cut off.  Not lined up right.  Too many guys on the field.

That's CJ's deal.

Really excited to see his impact vs the Pats.

The fans.

This is such an underrated comment, seriously.

All players need to bring their "A" game.  This is a combined effort.  Regardless of how banged up their team is as well, 12 always lifts the role players filling the void of those out with injury.  Set the edge, pressure up the middle, and blanket that coverage on the back end for the defense.

Offensively, win the point of attack, create separation, and be smart with you calls.

Put the pedal to the metal, and never let up.

The DL and LB's. To beat the Pats you have to knock Brady to the ground. I want to see Brady screaming at his OL . The Playoff game we beat the Pats, you couldn't even read Bradys name on the back of his Jersey. It is hard to sack Brady because he gets rid of the ball but keep knocking him to the ground. It will have an effect on him.

QW needs to attack Brady and make him uncomfortable in the Pocket... I think the rest will fall into place if that happens, especially with CJ back there.

Offensively, it has to be the OL... allowing Guy, Wise, Shelton , Simon, Collins to get pressure will give the LBs, and DBs the ability to Jump routes and get INTs.

absolutely right.  they need some serious pressure from leo, qwilliams, phillips,  mclendon, and then some disguised blitzes from adams, cashman, mosely, jenkins.  if brady takes the same hits dak took on sunday he'll be out of the game.

My top 5 would be...

1. CJ Mosley- Not sure how he can play any better than those 3 quarters he played in Buffalo (Numerous tackles, Pick 6, Fumble Recovery) but he may very well have too if the Jets plan on upsetting the Cheats. Great players make an impact and CJ's will be felt on the field obviously but one could argue that all the pre snap adjustments defenses will be just as important with him back at the helm.

2. Edoga- Has looked good against some good competition. Needs to keep Darnold clean, this could easily be #1 position that needs to play well.

3. Poole- Has been playing well and tonight he needs to play lights out against that little scrappy f*ucker Edelman, who will undoubtably get 12+ targets.

4. Maye- Has gotten close to a couple picks already this season, Brady is a one of the best ever with moving safeties with his eyes. Tonight Maye will have a huge responsibility, hoping he gets his 1st pick.

5. Crowder- Gilmore owns Anderson for the most part, could be different tonight but probably not. Crowder needs to be able to find the soft spots and get open and keep showing the growing chemistry he has with Darnold.

If they pull this off, reading these forums on Tuesday is going to be hilarious. Instant classic type of stuff.

edoga, first game at LT.  and Q, needs to pressure up the middle finally.

Yup, hit the nail on the head. I mean, you could say the interior D-line putting pressure on Brady and the Jets O-line as a whole. But in particular there will be a lot of pressure on Edoga and he will need to step up. And QW was drafted exactly for this purpose, to wreak havoc on the interior and make pocket QBs uncomfortable. We all know he is capable, we've seen flashes, he's been making some plays, this is the time when he needs to step up and have a great game.

Any under-the-radar guys who could be a difference maker tonight?

A candidate to be an unsung hero?

LS Thomas Hennessy - just got a new contract. He needs to perform big time tonight. Were gonna have a few punts and field goal tries and we need this guy at his best. Maybe we even try a fake punt or fake field goal and he's part of the plan. Maybe he causes a fumble while making a tackle on a punt. That would be huge! You go Tom Henn!

Cliche but it's going to take a team effort.  On D, pressure up the middle from Q. Will, Leo and McClendon.  Mosley, Adams and Maye have to be on absolute point tonight.

The OL has to play great and Darnold cant make mistakes.  But this is the game I want to see Bell show out.  Him picking up first downs on the ground and in the air.  Keep the Pats off the field.  Crowder needs to have a big night because he's going to see the best match ups.
