Darnold played like crap against the best coach ever. But this game was also lost from Mon-Sat

Cover 0/1.  Man coverage.  Did Gase even game plan for it?

Did Gase not expect the Pats (a defense with good cornerbacks) to blitz a 22 year old?

Did we see any hard snap counts by Darnold to try to diagnose and audible?  Peyton Manning was the master of this.  We brought Gase in to teach these tricks.  They were nowhere to be found.

Both Darnold and the coaching staff take the blame for this loss.  To lose fighting is one thing, but they were non-competitive and this was one of those wins that was made in the days leading up to the game.  It's clear Gase did not have this offense prepared for a very good defense.  The instability at o-line is frankly overwhelming and whoever the o-line coach is should be fired tomorrow morning.  Gase and his sidekick Dowell better never let this happen again or I'm done.

The coaching difference is striking.  Belichick had a mini bye after playing on Thursday night and used the time to design a game plan that had the Jets lost from the start.  In the meantime, Gase failed to adjust to anything.

Bill Belichick for $12.5 million a year might be the biggest bargain in sports. He probably has a Wins Above Replacement of like 4 all by himself. If Belichick is only worth 12.5 a year, Gase should be paid like 50,000.
