ScarletKnight89
When you don't let the General Manager hire the Head Coach it becomes harder to point the blame at one person. The Jets should fire Gase and let Douglas pick HIS HEAD COACH. Then it's on those two to fix things. The Jets love trying to force partnerships. Rex and Idzik, Macc and Bowles, than Macc and Gase for a little while, and now Gase and JD. Why not just let the General Manager control the roster and pick his Head Coach? I think it's time to go back to that way. 1

JetFaninMI
Who cares who was most vocal? I didn't want the guy because it never ends well when a guy is fired and goes right to another team. Especially in the same division. Rex comes to mind. The thing is Gase is here for the foreseeable future. No way the Jets fire him and have to pay him and Bowles. No way. I don't even think they fire him if he goes 1-15. Gase is here. Deal with it.

Bomberjet
Put me on this list. For all the years I've followed the Jets, this is the first time that in the coach's first season, I'm screaming for his head. Not even Kotite was this bad. I agree with you he is here at least all of next year maybe longer no matter what but it's going to be painful seeing he was a recent hire. Warfish
Have we already reached the point where all the folks who loved the guy and buttfumbled any and all criticism start claiming they never liked him and led the charge of doubters? Not saying you are but crying about isn't going to change it. Some guys are going off the deep end when it comes to Gase being fired. The guy is going nowhere for some time. Now, if they lose to the dolphins, maybe chris johnson steps in and forcing joes hand. But left up to puppet joe, gase is here for 3 more years.

Miss Lonelyhearts
Gase has played the Jets superbly. He timed the coup so as to minimize the stuff he's accountable for rather than to maximize the stuff he has control over. If Rex was that smart he could have ruined the franchise for decades.
playtowinthegame
I wanted Mike McCarthy, but then I talked myself into liking Adam Gase. The Jets are a disaster now and it's downright embarrassing. I'm blown away by the fact this franchise got worse in a year. We're so bad this year even the JET Clown, who once said, "I think we could go 6-10, not too shabby," would be wrong.

jgb
The issue isn’t so much they some were pro or anti Gase it’s that the pro crowd assaulted those who were not on board as being not real fans, idiots, or Beelzebub

JetsYanks13
I hate the guy, but all vocal and non vocal Jets fans are suffering due to this horrible hire. It’s not about victory laps at this point, rather the Jets ownership acknowledging this POS head coach and firing him ASAP! T0mShane
Nobody “wanted” Gase. He came in late out of left field after the Browns passed on him and Manning made an eleventh-hour phone call. The alternative was Matt Rhule, whom Maccagnan tried to bully, and McCarthy, who was worthless when Rodgers missed a game. Both options would have ensured the continued employment of Mike Maccagnan as Jets GM, which was obviously the worst case scenario. If Gase doesn’t win another game, it was a good hire simply because he saved us from another three years of Maccagnan. Keep your eyes on the prize, dummies.
bealeb319
I absolutely hated us picking gase. I still don't like him. My first choice for head coach though would have been a defensive mind in Schwartz. Either way though this is all spilt milk....I don't know if anyone could have found success behind this offensive line.Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using JetNation.com mobile app
