Mosley out 5-6 more weeks, trying to avoid surgery

Per ESPN.  This follows his visit to a specialist.

I'd shut the guy down.  It's Week 9 and he's out 5-6 more weeks?  Makes zero sense to bring him back in Week 15 or 16, right?

He's played 1 and 1/2 games.  We're 1-6.  He's going to miss another 5-6 weeks.  That's 13 games in the books by the time he could come back.

Why wouldn't you shut him down at this point?  For those last three games?

The only reason I can think of is, perhaps, a Head Coach who may be trying not to get fired after his first disastrous year and might need some garbage time wins to save himself.

if we rattle 5 in a row hell come back

if we don't, he wont

pretty simple

Probably.  IF the Jets (who just dumped Leo) somehow go on a miraculous winning streak against bad opponents then maybe Mosley is the key to going 8-8 instead of 7-9.

Sheesh!

I think it's because, unlike Osemele, Mosley REALLY REALLY wants to play, and feels like he's letting his teammates down.

Sometimes the job of the organization is to protect a player from themselves, for the good of both the player and the organization's investment in that player.

They will when they have to. No reason to rush into. It's not like ACL Surgery that requires 6 month recovery. I am sure he can have the surgery in 4 weeks and be 100pct ready for camp.

but why wait and risk him injuring it further or just doing nothing for 5-6 weeks when he could be rehabbing?
