varjet
I remember when Parcells took over the Jets, and at his opening press conference he brought out the binders of all of the player injuries from the year before. A good coach with a good program does better on injuries than the Jets have done. On one hand under Bowles it seemed like the Jets benefited from fewer injuries. They are now regressing to the mean. It’s just a bad a sign. Don’t know whose fault it is, but it is big negative on the coaching program.
jetstream23
I held on as long as I could, thinking I was a genius in Fantasy Football by having the Jets D for a run of weak opponents coming up. Still not a bad play this week vs. Miami but no ILB's, they just traded Leo, Jamal's head isn't in the game and Miami is actually playing better football than they were in September. Had to drop them and pick up Cleveland vs. Denver and its backup QB.

And I GUARANTEE you Jet fans will once again come back next week and s**t all over Jamal for blowing coverage on a WR or not getting a sack or INT that he was 'supposed' to get b/c he was the 6th overall pick. I'll tell you this is why we cannot win because getting depleted this much at one position basically makes the whole unit i.e the D almost non-functional. I am such an optimist that I am trying to not give up on this season, but truthfully if Miami tried to win for 60 minutes we would lose since we are just to injured. I watched the Monday night game and they can mount a pretty good pass rush which as we know is not a good matchup for our Oline. The only hope I have is that our backup Center solidifies the Oline as he did last year, and we get our starting LT Beachem back as at least he has much more exp. handling speed rushers than Chuma does. Then on the D side of the ball that Hairston takes over for the useless TJohnson at CB. Boy, unbelievable that you have to root more for your backups than your starters to handle or salvage what we can going forward. That just doesn't seem right, but it's tough to blame GMs and Coaches who weren't the ones the created this mess/wreck.

TheClashFan
This really shouldn't be a surprise that he couldn't last. He'd best be used as a sub ILB in nickel packages or some such thing. That way you might be able to coax a full season out of him. But, having to start and play virtually all the snaps meant he was gonna get hurt. 2

Greatness transcends numbers and the game itself. Michael Jordan was great. Jerry Rice was great. Ken Griffey Jr. was great. You don't throw that term around flippantly when it comes to athletes (or anyone, really).
