Where else would Robbie Anderson be a #1 WR?

Where else would Daryl Roberts be a #1 CB?

Where else would Chuma Edoga be a starting LT?

Where else would Brian Winters be a starting RG?

Where else would Ryan Griffin be a starting TE?

Where else would Lewis (considered a backup in Baltimore), Harrison (Kalil was brought in for a reason), or Brandon Shell be starting in this league?

We just traded 1 of maybe 4 guys on defense that could start for another team in this league in Leo because that's how desperate Joe Douglas is for draft picks to work with in 2020.

Let it sink in. There are 32 teams in this league & we have just a handful of guys that would start on ANY OF THEM. I'm choosing to accept where we are, hope we can pick high enough for a tradeback haul & come to grips with the fact that everything will rest on how Joe Douglas drafts, signs free agents and constructs my New York Jets over the next 3 years. It might take that long to truly compete if things go right for him. We could see an uptick next year with guys back healthy. I just want to see a team that gets BETTER as the year progresses & gives us some hope for the future.

Just keeping it real. I'm at at peace with it.

Absolutely correct. You can't underestimate the lack of talent through out this roster, starters and backups. This is the result of six years of the worst GM performance any team has ever had. I blame the Johnson brothers for giving Macc five years and then CJ has the balls to act upset after the garbage players get their butts kicked. The best HC's to ever coach an NFL team couldn't make these guys play any better. There are no schemes or play calling that a HC could make to compensate for the pitiful players that comprise the Jets roster.

Robbie has been a big disappointment.

I was completely wrong about him, I thought he was a low level 1 or at least would be this year.  I thought he would evolve to a more well rounder receiver.

He's simply not strong enough - he gets pushed around way too easily to be a multi-dimensional receiver.

He's a 3...

That play on the goal line when Robbie just got pushed off the route & knocked into Crowder is a perfect example of his lack of strength. He's too light to be playing in tight with the big boys, he's fine out in space. He'd actually be quite a good #3 which is why I think JD will try to resign him. Love to see him smoking #3 CBs.

Robbie has rare deep threat ability which is seriously valuable but he’s essentially useless for a team who can’t run long developing plays.

On a better team he’d easily be putting up 1000+ yards 7+ TD’s a season.

I think he can do that on this team next year with a revamped Oline & as a #2 WR. Get a #1 WR, Herndon back & Crowder in the slot, Bell, Robbie will have a much easier time getting open.

He would be a #1 anyplace with a franchise QB

Do you actually believe this?

He isn't even a 3 imho.  A deep threat specialist maybe who sees the field a few times on a normal team.  Crowder is a legit 3.  And thats all the Jets have.  All garbage.

just FYI.. again Robbie is a WR3/WR2  and can be effective.

Agreed but we all know this to be true.  He's too talented not to be a starting-caliber receiver for just about any NFL team but too limited in his route tree and physicality to ever be a WR1.

Robbie rates just below OBJ and above Crowder on football outsiders..  and all 3 below DT.

Pff has him as a mid to low WR2 as well.  Which seems fair.

He has no chance against teams top CB, which is what he’s mostly been up against this year, so his numbers are going to be way down.

He’s not really a fit for Gases system either, as he much prefers bigger wrs historically speaking.

Anderson is a liability on the field who also happens to be a HR threat. He’s an extremely poor man’s Mike Wallace. He’s a solid 3/4 deep threat that should be on the field as either a decoy or occasional HR opportunity. He runs terrible routes, never fights for a ball, and is an atrocious blocker.

Robby is not a number 1. He’s an ok number 2.

It’s not many, but here are the players I think could realistically start on some other teams.

Offense: Bell, Crowder, Robby, Herndon. Alex Lewis is not bad if he’s your 5th best starting OL.

Defense: Mosley, Jamal, Maye, Poole, Q, McLendon, and Jenkins. If Jenkins were our second best edge, it would make things a lot better.

At full health, our depth is atrocious and only half the guys starting should be starting. We’ve got a long way to go.

He’s not a #2 either. Your 1 and 2 have to run crisp routes and be quick and be able to gain position on the ball through strength. Robbie is fast, he is not quick. He round his cuts terribly, is easily pushed off his routes to throw off timing, and does not have the strength to fight for the tough catches a 1 and 2 need to make. He’s also a terrible blocker in the run game, and he’s terrible in short field situations. Darnold’s INT last Sunday was horrible, but what blew up the play design was Robbie getting pushed like a rag doll into Crowder. Robbie shouldn’t even be on the field in the Red Zone because he is a major liability doing anything but taking the top off a defense.

Robbie is the receiver that will punish a D deep if an assignment is blown or the D goes cover 1 or cover 0 and the OL actually successfully blocks the blitz.

Every WR gets jammes at the line sometimes. Yeah, Julio Jones and Mike Evans...  not so much...

physical beasts/freaks...

Just for a little spice. Consider that OBJ has exactly one TD.

against us

on a 4 yd pass and 84 yd run.

So...   he's letting Baker down?

ANd no, I am not comparing RA to OBJ as the latter is way more dynamic and versatile, tho has a sig. injury hx.

But w/ 2 crap QBs RA had 7 and 6 TD...   a little better QBing and he can add to that.

And no, he is never a #1 WR guy... he's a 2/3 hybrid.
