I'm choosing to accept where we are, hope we can pick high enough for a tradeback haul & come to grips with the fact that everything will rest on how Joe Douglas drafts, signs free agents and constructs my New York Jets over the next 3 years. It might take that long to truly compete if things go right for him. We could see an uptick next year with guys back healthy. I just want to see a team that gets BETTER as the year progresses & gives us some hope for the future. Just keeping it real. I'm at at peace with it. Absolutely correct. You can't underestimate the lack of talent through out this roster, starters and backups. This is the result of six years of the worst GM performance any team has ever had. I blame the Johnson brothers for giving Macc five years and then CJ has the balls to act upset after the garbage players get their butts kicked. The best HC's to ever coach an NFL team couldn't make these guys play any better. Pff has him as a mid to low WR2 as well. Which seems fair. He has no chance against teams top CB, which is what he’s mostly been up against this year, so his numbers are going to be way down. He’s a solid 3/4 deep threat that should be on the field as either a decoy or occasional HR opportunity. He runs terrible routes, never fights for a ball, and is an atrocious blocker. Your 1 and 2 have to run crisp routes and be quick and be able to gain position on the ball through strength. Robbie is fast, he is not quick. He round his cuts terribly, is easily pushed off his routes to throw off timing, and does not have the strength to fight for the tough catches a 1 and 2 need to make. He’s also a terrible blocker in the run game, and he’s terrible in short field situations. Darnold’s INT last Sunday was horrible, but what blew up the play design was Robbie getting pushed like a rag doll into Crowder. Robbie shouldn’t even be on the field in the Red Zone because he is a major liability doing anything but taking the top off a defense. Robbie is the receiver that will punish a D deep if an assignment is blown or the D goes cover 1 or cover 0 and the OL actually successfully blocks the blitz. Just for a little spice. Consider that OBJ has exactly one TD. against us on a 4 yd pass and 84 yd run. So... he's letting Baker down? ANd no, I am not comparing RA to OBJ as the latter is way more dynamic and versatile, tho has a sig. injury hx. But w/ 2 crap QBs RA had 7 and 6 TD... a little better QBing and he can add to that.
