As we mentioned earlier, the Jets are having additional depth issues in the secondary now that Darryl Roberts is injured. That has opened a door for 2019 draft pick, Bless Austin from Rutgers. He has been rehabbing all season and is expected to be active against the Giants on Sunday. The team also announced that they have waived LB B.J. Bello.

The Jets have activated CB Bless Austin and waived LB B.J. Bello.

Austin, the team’s sixth-round pick in 2019, was placed on the active/non-football-injury list July 22. The Rutgers product has been rehabbing from a knee injury suffered in the Scarlet Knights’ 2018 season-opener. In four years at RU (25 games), the 6’1”, 198-pounder racked up four interceptions, 18 pass defenses, two sacks and five tackles for loss.

Bello signed with the Green & White last Wednesday after a stint with on the Packers practice squad earlier this season. A 2017 undrafted free agent, the 6’3″, 229-pounder has totaled eight tackles in 19 games with the Browns and Eagles.
