Welp I held my breath on two of those throws that last drive.

So far today we are living the other side of the Sam Darnold experience.

Exactly. 2 completions that last week were interceptions.

The Darnold experience is widly inconsistent, but when it's good; it's really good.

You can see Darnold going through multiple reads, and stepping up in pressure instead of away from it. That's what's been leading to some of his terrible plays, the fact that he's too afraid to step into it.

Great game thread post, Maxman. Got my competitive juices flowing a bit.

Gase, I tip my cap to him so far and happy to eat crow: good play calling/design, creative.

Darnold, a few dangerous throws but looking good.

Maybe having Beachum back has been a big boost to the o-line and its cohesiveness. Including Edoga goes back to RT.

Of course this all against a bad Giants defense. Yet the offense is doing what a good offense should do against an inferior defense. So job well done.

If Bell makes it past the offseason without getting traded he may be able to make it to the 2nd level more than once every 6 games with new O linemen. That will also be fun to watch.

I gotta tell you, if Sam is given just another 2 seconds on each passing play he could be devastating.
I think once this O line is repaired we can be a team to be feared with Sam under center.
If he is not having to continually throw the ball just using his arm strength, rather be able to use the correct mechanics and his lower body, he can be scary good.

Where has this been? Is the Giants D this bad or have we suddenly remembered scoring points is important?

Giants d is the worst in the league.

Sam needed a day like this. Good job so far.

Anyone who suggested we draft a QB with the first in the next draft needs to be banned until said draft.

Also, Beachum being back is clearly huge for the Jets.  He may not be that great, but still makes this line worlds better.

If only someone had been saying this this last month.

The line has been abysmal.

The difference is that Gase is calling the good plays today.

The difference is this is the basement bowl.

And that is why we’re not having anymore silly convos about drafting a QB. His poor play is symptomatic of bigger problems
