How did Gase win this game?

Recommended Posts

Both starting CBs out. 5 inside LBs out. Winters got hurt creating another change on the Oline. We traded Leo. While you guys want him fired I'm thinking we should give him an extension.

Oh, are we still drafting another QB? Asking for a friend.

Will the Giants fire Shurmer for losing to the Jets?

A few more wins & we may be in a perfect spot for a best offensive player available draft slot.

he did not it took an outstanding play by Adams to win this, and one game where the team looked prepared is not forgiving the other 7 when they looked like crap. but this is gase he win against bad teams and lose and look like crap against good teams.

Just look at his track record as a head coach

Oh, ok, so he loses against good teams with his BAD TEAM but he beats bad teams with his BAD TEAM. Am I understanding this right?

Our team finally didn't buckle under pressure. Aside from the Jamal handful, our running game was atrocious. It's going to be hard to be consistently with a bad OL. Gase did well today.

Gase called a decent game for once and Brian Winters got hurt opening up a few running lanes. Winters is the worst we have, get that bum out of here next year.

It’s hard to believe we’ve won 2 games with this horrendous Oline.

When Beachum was out Winters was our best Olineman left but you guys want to blame Gase when Macc should have been burned at the stake instead of being fired.

Calm down here.

It was one win against a team as bad as ours.

Our QB didn't do anything special out there today, he played the type of game any average to below average starter pulls off all the time, and the HC didn't break any new ground out there did he?

Calm down here man. You're doing an awful lot of chirping here aren't you? It was one win against a team as bad as ours. After the offseason of predictions you just had, I'd go real easy here.

Most coaches create some of their best offensive plays when they have the 32nd ranked Oline. It’s easiest to add new fangled plays when you have different players every week, keeps opposing defenses off balance. Especially on 3rd & long pass plays.

Winters is to blocking to what Gase is to play calling.

Yea because Winters has no problem holding his blocks so the play called can succeed. Am I doing this right?

OK so I will say this again...against bad teams his teams have performed decent but against good teams they look like crap that is his track record as a coach. The 1 yr the fins made the play offs they had an easy schedule they folded in the first round, things are ok right...wrong next yr a harder schedule and the fins post a losing a record, the following yr the wheels completely fall off.

You could see that in this game the first scripted plays score he goes away from what is working and the team falls behind the defense does a great job against a great running back and Adams makes a super play put s the jets ahead then the Jets go 3 and out. Then he changes and goes back to what is working and then hits a long pass interference call to get another score. What happens if Baker turns his head?

Just because the jets won does not make him a good or even an average coach. He should have stuck to what was working why go away from it?

I just counted Aaron Rogers getting 10 seconds just now. TEN SECONDS.

Matt Lefleur is genius.

LOL...Sam could go 35/40 450 yards and 5 TDS and you'd say it was average because he was "bad" on the 5 incompletions./

Yeah Ok. Wake me when that happens.

Check the game thread, and then the "are we ruining Sam Darnold" one.  Not only did I predicy the 34-27 final score right on the head, but I also said Darnold would have a good game today against one of if not the worst defenses in the NFL.

He had a good first quarter, and was serviceable after that. The best thing was he didn't turn the ball over. If you're pleased with the fact that he didn't look any better then the rookie QB you've trashed since he was drafted, and who only started his 7th game today, good for you.

You've been bragging on Darnold for two years now, I'd think you'd be disappointed that's the best we can say about him. Face it, I've been a lot more right about him then you have. I wish that wasn't the case, but it is.

We need a coach to call perfect games & a QB that doesn’t throw incompletions EVER. Then we’ll be very good, unstoppable really.

Some coaches can actually coach up an OL, and make the sum a little better then the parts also, can't they?

This OL is a bad hill to die on when it comes to Gase. He brought in his father in law to coach it, and it's the group he and Douglas have had the most input on with this team. Yet they are worse then they were last year.

Gase didn’t win this game. He did everything he could to lose it. The two fourth quarter challenges were unnecessary, he looked lost for a good chunk of the game after the Giants defense adjusted, and there were several chances to put the game away sooner and his playcalling was atrocious. Moving on at the end of the season will be best for everyone.

Umm no you havent. Get back to me in a few weeks. The fact that he can be even average with our OL and "skill" players is a testament to the extreme skill Darnold has. I am dumbfounded that you and the others just dont see his abilities..
