Christopher Johnson says Gase will return in 2020

Exactly right.  Proof positive that SAR is no Jets puppet.  SAR is usually the first one to scream for the head coach to be shown the door.  He was years ahead of the curve on fakers Edwards and Ryan, he knows what's what.

Yet here he is, seeing the product on the field and supporting Adam Gase for a second term.  That speaks volumes.  If only you'd listen.

Sounds like you are describing a natural contrarian or someone who just likes to troll/argue

takes one to know one.

Vive la Gase!

The worst thing the Jets can do is fire Gase because you can’t keep changing the offense each year- Darnold is never going to develop.    Darnold needs to play in the same system , ( will be much more comfortable in the second year) than having to learn a whole new playbook.

Darnold development is the most important thing going forward for the Jets,  that you have to keep Gase.

This.

And the Jets would not be able to attract a good head coach after treating someone as respected as Adam Gase in this manner.  There are going to be 8 head coaching vacancies this year, Jets would get bottom of the barrel again, its how we wound up with Edwards, Ryan, and Bowles.  Beautiful weather?  No.  Low taxes?  No.  Low cost of living?  No.  Supportive management?  No.  Well, now that last one is an emphatic 'yes'.  One of the only things we have going for us.

Patience.  That's what Le'Veon Bell asked of the fans.  So we're respecting that.

The Jets, a perennial loser franchise for a reason and people do not need to look nothing else than Chris the bozo.

This move is actually exactly what you asked for.

1. Experienced head coach, not a rookie making rookie mistakes.  Check.

2. Offensive side of the ball, not the 10th defensive Jets coach since 1980.  Check.

3. Hired at the same time as the GM so they are both in sync with the same agenda.  Check.

4. Left in place for several years so as to build the team from the core-up, keeping the playbook consistent.  Check.

5. Someone who is young and can relate to the players, especially the franchise quarterback.  Check.

This is one of the dumbest things I’ve read in some time. The fans determine nothing. They turn up and get the product their given. Since the product has been bottom 3-5 NFL, for around a decade. I think they have every right to express their dislike for what’s going on.

The lack of any real success for 50 years, leads to the sound logic to expect sh*t play, and lack of any real planning and execution off it.

Perhaps you like to argue for the sake of it? - It’s either blind Homerism (or your afraid you will lose your spot on the fans input board or whatever you call it.)

At this point your just a parody account.

Wait-  so the reason Christopher Johnson made his decision speech to the media yesterday had absolutely nothing to do with the negative hype generated by 149 fans and a Fire Adam Gase airplane which led to radio attacks, Twitter attacks, and Daily News hit pieces?  This isn't a quiet fanbase.  This is a loud and obnoxious fanbase.

And our front office listens to these fans.  Well, they used to.  I think after last week them days is over.

Man.  I remember when the worst flack you took as a Jets fan (other than the constant reminders of losing) were the jokes about the color of the uniforms or our terrible drafts.  Now it's 24 hour bonkers.... It's like the entire league is holding us up to take another gut shot or kick in the balls.  Even the ginger snitch that eats the paste in the corner of the 1st grade class doesn't get this picked on.

....and you can thank your fellow Jets fans for that.

You know, the ones that ignore the real reason for our 2-7 record and fly planes insulting a head coach who has been in town for a few months and has had his starting quarterback under center for a whopping 4 games.  These fans are the reason for the broken culture and the embarrassment.  You'd hope this week teaches them that lesson.

Jason Koeppel, some nobody looking to impress his girlfriend.  Just got what he didn't want.  Another year of Adam Gase.  Way to go idiot.

This sums it up.

We get the point why you give ALMOST any new coach at least 2 years to turn around a bad team.   However, someone pointed out teams that turned themselves around with quick firings-SEAHAWKS, 49ers, even Cardinals.

But what bothers me more is the interactions we are hearing CJ have with the players, and his resulting meddling.  Meeting with Adams and then declaring he should be a Jet for life?  How does JD trade him if that is better for the team?  How do we pay him $15mm and afford an edge and CB1?

It is also apparent that DARNOLD wants Gase to stay, and that probably influenced his statement.

The conclusion here is understandable, but the background, approach and path is all wrong.

I agree on most of the points and disagree about Gase. He was terrible in Miami and is horrid here. Sam has regressed his sole purpose to be here. If this was a winning coach or even a new coach I could understand that, but his track record has nothing it to warrant any type of loyalty or leeway.

Understand Gase is a big reason why this team sucks the oline issues is partly his fault same with the kicking situation. How do you not bring in a new kicker or even not have 2 in camp....

If you haven’t noticed we’ve been waiting 50 years. We are allowed to comment on the sh*t show.  Le’veon Bell hasn’t earned sh*t to tell the fan base what to do.

His 2.9 yards per carry makes the accumulator look like Barry Sanders. Break a tackle once in a while.

The Johnson’s will have to pay more then bottom 10% HC money, that will help. Perhaps then they don’t have to pay three at once.

That’s a very good analogy

that has nothing to do with your comment which was comparing Gase to Bellicheck

Nope, I never compared Gase to Belichick, I compared SITUATIONS! That was a DIRECT QUOTE from Belichick from 2000. He said he ONLY had 40 good players while others had 53. I'm just pointed out that Gase has way less than 40 good players & if you disagree come back here & let me know who they are. Come back here & list THE GOOD PLAYERS that Gase has to work with & DO NOT INCLUDE THE INJURED.

The more I think about it the more amazed i am that the plane flying had this affect on the team and its fans.  The plane literally saved a coaches job.  WOW!!!  Who would have thought we had that much power.

Its also caused the SOJFs to talk for 11 pages about said plane which has no effect on anything besides them wasting time.

It feel good to know the revolution's voice was heard and it went all the way to the dope owner who acted on it.

Really amazing!!!!!!!!  i am looking forward to our next project when it is needed.

Give him a pass.  He is only 18 and remember the great Winston Churchill put it best in describing the young as naive, free stuff, faithless, conformist, socialists.  He will come around by 35 when he figure out how the world function.  If he doesn’t figure out, then he will become a hippie.

What other serious choice was there to be had?  Having a team with the second most players on IR is never really a good thing.  Is there really any choices left to get on the practice squad to fill openings?  I knew he was going to get another year.  Joe D came in too late to really fill the OL major lack of talent.  Joe did the best he could.   The off season will set the tone going into the draft.

when you compare the the situations then you are comparing the coaches. Sorry but Gase has never had any success and Bellicheck got rid of Kosar and went on to go 11-5 and get into the playoffs with teh browns, then with pats he drafted Brady and Mo Lewis sped of the process of getting him into the game. The situation with injuries may be similar at best but when you dig down they are different

"Year in and year out".

See, if the plane demanded "SELL THE TEAM JOHNSON!" I would understand where you are coming from.  That's not what the plane said.  The plane went after a newb coach who joined a rotting 4-12 team and had coached a measly 4 games with his first string quarterback.

The fans went after the wrong guy.  As a result, they embarrassed the fans, angered the organization, and forced the owner to rush to a conclusion to stop a narrative from festering and distracting the locker room.  SOJF's are idiots.  Manish, Beningo, and the likes of you deserve each other.  When the Jets finally get it right and win something, you aren't allowed back in.  I have a list.

PSLs = investment tungsten

It's funny too because I've never had STs but I was able to purchase a ticket to the last Jets home playoff win (41-0 over the Colts) at face value from (I think) Ticketmaster.

Wasn’t crazy about the Gase hire.

Now I hate him, because I think he sucks.

But whether we like it or not...its time to get behind Gase. He’s the coach of our team that we root for. Support him, hope he can develop Sam.

Time to swallow the truth, Kotite 2.0 is here for the rest of 2019 and for 2020. Save the FIRE HIM for next year, and hooe it never gets to that point.

None.

A winning record competitive team next year, or Gase, and every bootlicker here whose defended him, can go stfu.

there will always be excuses and sadly always dumb fans that buy into them and want patience ....

every year sam spends with gase is a wasted year-you dont want sam to be the next tannyhill who by the way has been playing some real good football as of late-bet he is thrilled to get the stench of gase off of him-funny too people saying gase had tanny so you cant blame him for his failure-Tanny looked pretty damn good beating the chiefs last week and has played some nice ball in general since taking over

Yeah because he was terrified of the inevitable chest crunch hit from the oline he rushed it 2 seconds early. In his defense I wonder why Vyncint didnt just dive a little and make the catch.

You know the craziest part of this....the decision to extend Mac and Bowles.

After a strong but flawed first year and two pretty lousy years, the Jets had a choice of what to do with Mac and Bowles in their last year.   I believe the Giants wisely let Coughlin coach his last year without an extension, and then they extended him.  But for reasons we cannot really comprehend the Jets extended both Mac and Bowles rather than let them prove themselves.

After Mac’s 2019, it would have been clear that he should go.  Bowles would have been coaching for a new job.  He coached terribly last year and was justifiably fired.   But obviously his coaching job looks better now than it did then.

But...the Jets could have moved on from Mac and Bowles with relatively little financial pain.  The cost of paying Mac and Bowles for the next X years is their own fault.  They did not deserve a contract extension in 2018.
