JetNation
Adam Schefter is reporting that Jets have placed center Ryan Kalil on IR. Jets placed OL Ryan Kalil on IR, per source. To fill his roster spot, Jets signed OL Leo Koloamatangi to the active roster. — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) November 16, 2019 The move ends a disappointing season for Kalil who had retired from the Panthers after last season. He only played in 7 games this year. Joe Douglas signed Ryan Kalil into playing for the Jets and signed him to a one-year 8.4 million dollar contract. Jonathan Harrison has started the past two weeks and he will continue to do so. It was his job before the season started and he is the starter again after the failed Ryan Kalil experiment. It will give the staff an extensive look at Harrison as they head into the offseason where the offensive line will be a major focus. Leo Koloamatangi was on the Jets practice squad and here is a little more background info. Koloamatangi signed to the Jets’ practice squad Oct. 30. The 6’4”, 310-pounder originally joined the Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2017. The Hawaii product, who played 41 games in four seasons for the Rainbow Warriors, has been a final cut each year since entering the league and has bounced on and off Detroit’s practice squad. varjet
This was a bad hire that did not reflect well on Douglas. He basically enriched the Kalil Family Retirement Fund.

Lith
Pretty sure this frees up about $1.5MM cap space. He had a bonus for each game he was active totalling $3.0MM on the season.

He's a bubble player for sure because he's already shown he couldn't stay healthy at the collegiate level and now the NFL level. It's a shame because he looked decent for a rookie. Close to 100% chance Cashman is on opening day roster if he makes it through TC healthy

With this depleted ass roster , kid gets two more strikes before he loses the benefit of the doubt. He was drafted by us, he showed he can at least be serviceable. That’s a huge win for this piss poor drafting team.
naturalscience
I am officially applying for the center job of the NYJ. Seeing as how there is no need to be in shape or play at any where near a professional level I feel I will fit in nicely. To further benefit the team I am offering a hometown discount, taking only a meager salary of 3 million dollars. 1

He's 23 and just underwent his third major shoulder surgery and plays ILB. He was also a Mac pick so he also has that going against him.
