Raiders Will Provide A Litmus Test

Here is honest assessment .   This game will be as close as J Gruden wants it to be.   If he ultra conservative with the play calling , Jets will be in this game to the end.   J Gruden comes out , and goes for the throat - Raiders win this One  in a blowout.

Does Gruden call a lot of INT plays too? Gase does the googly eyed bastard.

Where do you see a blowout?  The Raiders have been blown out in 3 of their 4 losses. They have not blown out one team.  Not saying it couldn't happen, but the fact is the Jets are a bad team and the Raiders are at best an average team.

They Jets have the tools to move the ball and score points on the Raiders defense  if the o-line plays well, but perhaps not enough to outscore a hot Derek Carr and the Raiders. I think the game comes down to Greg Williams vs. Chuky. A big play on special teams either way could also make the difference.

The great offense that scored 14 points against the Bengals today?

Jets did what they should have today.  They beat one of the worst teams in the league.  The Darnold looked good, the offensive line with Compton and Lewis appeared to be improved.  TE Griffin and CB Austin are nice surprises and look to be future contributors.

The apparent step forward may just be a mirage.  A product of a struggling team looking well against an even worse team...

The Raiders will be a bona fied litmus test for the Jets...

Anyone care to offer predictions for how that one will go ???

43-24 Raiders. Jets pass defense is a joke and Carr will have a career day.

Not really.

I mean, yes it’s good to see Darnold finding his stride/ D doing better - but this regime has already given us enough to know we’re just spinning our tires

The Jets with every LB out.  With Enunwa and Herndon out.  KO, out.  Others out.  No excuse

I guess Gruden didn't want it to be a blowout against the winless bengals.

This raiders team is winning games but dont be fooled.  This is an average football team at best.

Flying cross country for a 1oclock game, ill say it now.

Jets win this game handily.

Jets 27

Raiders 14

Yeah Raiders by 20.

The Jamaal Adams thread that @T0mShane will start after watching Waller catch 8 for 150, and 2 TD’s will be epic.

Unless the NFL moves the Raiders into the NFC East by next week, I'd say we have pretty lousy odds.

Keep talking nonsense.   Just because you keep repeating the same lie, means it’s going to change anything - make it true .    Another loss to the Raiders.

What was the team that destroyed the Jets recently in the middle of the field.    Well it’s going to be much worse with the Raiders personnel.    Have ORoy RBs Josh Jacobs . Stud Rookie Fb Alec Ingold.  When you see either Rb Jalen Richard or Deandre Washington In the backfield there is a good chance they are coming in to be mismatches in the passing game.

They have three Tes that are very unique- all can both block and catch .  ( Waller, Moreau , and Carrier) They can play all three Te’s at once.   Two Te’s formations with Waller, and Moreau  , with D Carrier as  h-back . ( very tough matchup problems)       While they don’t have a true number 1 Wr , they have nice array of Wrs. ( Tyrell Williams6’4 205 , Zay Jones , Hunter Renfrow - becomes bigger part of the offense every week ( third down specialist) M Ateman 6’4 220 - big physical Wr who very good run blocker also)

Raiders might have DRoy also Maxx Crosby seriously in the running to win that award too.( kids coming on every week- has chance to fatten up on the Jets  offense line)

Thats great but the Raiders are an average football team, nothing more.  They run the ball great, but we have a top 5 run stuffing d.

Its a long trip across the country, its going to be cold etc.

Its the perfect spot where a hot team like the raiders will lose.

Yea but we only care how many the Raiders  score on the Jets defense.   The Raiders are  6-4 - half  a game behind the Chiefs for   First place in the AFC West.( six seed for the playoffs right now)    Your season was over after week four.
You still haven’t beat anyone beside  a team in the NFC East.

Yea you have a funny way of describing average team- currently six seed in the playoffs, and half a game behind the Chiefs for first place in the AFC West.     Using your definition of average -  when was the last time the  Jets were   an average team?
Btw
Correction the Raiders are currently tied with the Chiefs for first place in the AFC West.   The Raiders will either be a Half a game up or down depending of outcome on Monday night.

lol

Have you seen the Jets roster?  Name more than 5 guys of the Jets 22 starters (offense/defense) who would have started on the Cowboys that day?

Another correction.  They are 7th and outside looking in.  Must-win game vs. the lowly Jets next week.

Getting Neville Hewitt back is huge.  We need at least 1 real ILB in there for the defense not to break down.

Also apparently Nathan Shephard has some ability.  Who knew?

The emergence of Austin has made the Jets a pretty good cover 2 defense.

We're going to win out from here sans a loss to the Ravens, squeak in to the playoffs at 8-8, then we're going to be a real pain in the a** on the road in the playoffs when Bell hit his stride.

Chris Johnson's backing was a god send, the players know they are in this for the long haul with Gase and are starting to play like it.

Or not.....but I'm leaving that glass half empty s*** to others.

Raiders are a year ahead of the Jets & should beat a bad Jet team, but it's a road game, early game, Sam needs to protect the ball & Jets might surprise.

hopefully it will be a good game.  win or lose as long as the jets play the full 60, keep darnold pretty clean and don't have any turnovers they'll have a shot.  the raiders are a bunch of punks who need to be punched in the nose.

I expect a shootout

The raiders defense stinks but they can score on offense

The Raiders have been playing well and winning games.  But this is just the perfect setup for them to lose a game they should win.

Im almost about to guarantee this win.

The Raiders are a -3.5 which tells you that vegas doesnt think the raiders are as good as their record nor the jets as bad as their record.  Like Ive said before this is the exact scenario that a team that has been playing well get beat handily by and 3-7 team.

The jets are winning this game going away.  Place your bets now!
