Or half a season for the OL to protect long enough for thee plays to develop and open up and be called

If you ask me it's a couple of things with the OL

1. Harrison is a better C than an old Khalil

2. Beachum at LT playing better back from his injury

3. Lewis playing better than Osemelie

They are playing better but with that said they still are not a good OL.

McVay as HC has a winning record and playoffs Gase not so much.

Still point remains.  McVay after trying to stuff outside zone runs down the teams throat for the entirety of the season has made a strategic shift suddenly in the basics of his offense to now run more gap blocking run plays.   Just saying all coaches try to stick to their bread and butter pillars of their offensive system for as long as possible.  Its good that gase has started to adapt his system to what we have to work with here, but he shouldnt be panned for doing so so late in the season when other coaches (ones that people love) have been guilty of the same thing this season.

You do recognize why this is though, no?  The roll out typically comes after play action which hopefully freezes the defense, and then, by moving to one side, it cuts the field in half, effectively removing defenders he has to worry about, and minimizing his need to make decisions.  For the most part, he can focus on one pass catcher and one defender.  While this may improve his ability to make plays, it ought to be concerning that he needs this simplification to succeed.  While anyone can recognize the problems of our line, Darnold needs to be able to understand a defense in full, and find the open man, if he’s going to succeed long term.

He's also making a lot of plays with multiple reads from the pocket as well. Heck even Aaron Rodgers has said he likes single read/dumpoff plays.

Is there much in the way of similarity between the O-line starters yesterday and those of opening day?

Seems like most of the line now playing better are not the players in those spots on opening day.

Agree, the OL has been in flux all year and sucked most of time no matter the players.  The OL has to be addressed big time this offseason if we’re going to what this offense is meant to look like.  And the QB

Having ficken kick the 49 yarder was an awful call by gase.  You go for it on 4th there.

Gase has alot of improvement to do on the coaching side of things.

Compton better than Winters, and Shell better than Edoga...

The Giants and Redskins are awful football teams.

We'll see how the team looks against the Raiders.

Make sure all the Jamaal Adams fan boys get this memo, well if they can get their heads out of his ass.

I will say this, I’ve never seen a Jet team score on the first drive let alone in 4 straight games
