Nixhead
Sam Darnold reminds me of - of that we did'nt draft Josh Rosen. Thank God for that one! Not that Rosen is a bad person but Darnold was the best choice for the Jets that draft - better for the Jets than Mayfield or Jackson would of been.
Popular Post Greenbloodblitz
I think Sam Darnold is just himself. He has similar attributes to some past players and I will agree I see Romo, Terry Bradshaw, Favre, Steve Young and that fake white dude that plays for the Seahawks LOL. But seriously this kid really brings his own game. it's just what my eyes see but he has a lot of really good strengths and very few weaknesses. In fact whatever you could state are his weaknesses are probably traits that are above average compared to most starting quarterbacks. The kid can move, he's a former linebacker so he's tough as nails, he's got a gun when he needs it accuracy and touch when he needs it, he obviously has the it Factor he wants to win and all of it is obvious! I'm sticking with Sam at this point there really isn't another quarterback in this league I would take over him without serious consideration. 5 3

Rodgers on his best days might have a somewhat stronger arm than Darnold, because it was a cannon, I don't think he ever got recognition for that, and Darnold's arm is also very strong when he needs it to be, although some people don't realize that either. They see him throwing mostly touch passes and think his arm is weak. How weak was it today on that rope he threw rather than run? I actually think Darnold is a better overall athlete. Let Douglas put more pieces around the now 22 year old. Get used to seeing Jet blow outs....on the side of the good guys. 3

For example. He's not a scrambling quarterback but he can run and he's bigger than most scrambling quarterbacks. He's not a pocket passer and doesn't have a huge rifle but I've seen this guy throw bullets from the pocket and on the Run. He seems to be just shy of the great ones but a little bit better than the good ones LOL. And Christ he's still just turned 22 years old which means he's still growing! Every time I try to compare him to another quarterback he's either bigger stronger faster smarter more accurate Or can make the unscheduled play that others just can't. He is extremely well-rounded and I would say a very good quarterback. Again I really don't think there's another quarterback in the league I would take for this team at this point in time with that's very serious consideration. 1 1

Popular Post JoJoTownsell1
That pass to Robby Anderson was a mix of Rodgers/Favre/Romo. Granted, the "smart" play on 3rd and 2 in that spot was to run for the easy 1st down, but Darnold doesn't have any quit in him. If he sees any kind of window, he takes his shot. Once he starts to cut down on the unnecessary mistakes/unforced errors he is going to be special. And we saw that today when there was nothing open, a defender was about to get to him and he just tossed it away. A few weeks back and that's an INT. In his defense, the mono issue and being 0-4 and 1-5 put a ton of pressure on Darnold to be amazing to give this team a chance. Instead of just playing smart, he tried to win 10 games in a row on every pass which lead to some REALLY dumb mistakes. it seems as if he is settling down 5
Patriot Killa
His style of play always reminded me of Aaron Rodgers. Definitely agree. He’s that style of QB. Not many are. Can he be of the same caliber QB as Arod? That’s a whole different question. Can’t wait till he gets a few more years under his belt. It’s gonna be fun to watch. He’s already a very fun QB to watch play.

BurnleyJet
Darnold is showing he can ball. Given that extra time, it’s allowing us to see the kids got talent. We was very down a month ago, now we are high. The truth is in the middle, he’s showing he’s got the capacity to learn. This is key for a young player. I do think we have something, it’s up to the GM to show this in the off season and build around him. Unlike the other clowns we've had at GM.
