Jesus.... this thread makes me want to vomit. Yes, trade a rookie 3rd pick after 11 games or so.  that sounds brilliant.

I’m one of the few QW supporters left but I also support trading him for a first

We are solid at the DL and we have a ton of holes WR about to become one of them

Christian Hackenberg reportedly set to debut in Eagles ...

Say What?

QW has shown flashes

All Hack showed us was throwing constant pick 6’s against PS bums in man to man vanilla schemes and pajamas on the sidelines because even Bowles knew he couldn’t play

We'd be lucky to get a 2nd rounder. It was a ill advised, luxury pick and sealed Macc's fate. I don't see JD trading him despite the OL being a mess. But you never know.  I'd do it for a mid 1st round pick and take that center Bladiz. QW is more Leo than Mean Joe Green or Warren Sapp.

Completely disagree you can still get a first for QW

so, wait, he's good enough to get a first rounder but we're considering trading him because he hasn't met expectations?

Before you say something racist try to get me in trouble again let me explain that we have way bigger issues with the roster than defensive line

Exactly: "we have way bigger issues than defensive line...

So it makes no sense to create a problem on the defensive line on the hope that we address problems elsewhere.

Secondly, I really don't see a ton of holes on the roster. Mostly I see the holes at positions that relatively easy to fill and/or not really as important as others believe. Let's have a recap [cause I got time this morning]:

OL: this is the majority of the issues. two positions need immediate attention and overall the unit has questions. but already, with subtraction of Kalil and Winters, the OL is playing better, going from "putrid, the worst" to meh, pass protection is adequate, run blocking still below average. So, I think there's room for growth with this unit.

CB: Austin and the riddance of Trumain Johnson have this unit looking up. The Jets have plenty of gritty depth guys and, of course, the 3rd best safety tandem in the league. So, not really terrible. But, they still could use more length and youth. Needs addressing but, not an "on fire" need, barring injury.

TE: I have no issues with this unit. Neither, does it appear, does Darnold. I never understood why the Jets always had the wimpiest of TEs during the last decade. That said, they were always expecting the TEs to compensate for a sh!!thy OL, so, bound to fail and suck.

OLB: ah, the edge rusher. this mythical beast, part Mo Lewis, part John Abraham. Or a modern day Mark Gastineau, pre-steroid. That's what we need. But, you know, if you have all the other boxes checked, almost anyone can fill this role, imo. It's mostly great for marketing merchandise. Give me an all around playmaker. Not just a pass rushing specialist.

ILB: the guys playing there now aren't playing terribly, but it's nice to know that Mosley will be back, presumably at full strength and Williamson, eventually (or not), who can say?

Personally, I think the guys the Jets have, as a group, are active and productive. One game it's this guy, the next, it's another. All pitching in, getting it done. But, sure, it never hurts to have that marquee guy people have to scheme against.

WR: What's not to like about this unit? Crowder, elusive, a poor man's Edelman. Demarius Thomas, big, reliable hands target. Anderson, the home run hitter and, in the background Smith, another big, fast target.

Kicker: We need someone AT LEAST as reliable as Pat Leahy. C'mon man...but at least punting is very good.

I know it's easy [for me] to get giddy about the way the team is playing. I'm very skeptical, based on the recent and not recent past. But I do note that the team looks like less than sh!t now. I keep waiting for the old Jets offense and defense to return.

When the Jets were playing horribly, I thought the secondary coverage and OL play were the worst aspects of the defense and offense. But those are, like, you know, the most things. So, now, there way better. Maybe not perfect, but, 3 straight wins with pretty complete games on both sides of the ball is pretty encouraging. I mean, before, you couldn't really tell what were the greatest weakness because there were soo many. Now, at least you can say that OL knows its blocking concepts and has the physicality to execute it to an effective degree. On defense, they can actually play man coverage and zone effectively. And they make teams one-dimensional with the run defense.

LOL, sorry but this didn't get much coverage. Our DL pretty much butt fu*cked the Raider OL. They got dick all day on the ground. And I'm so sure they were expecting to get at least average gains. They got NOTHING!!

Anyway, I'm rambling...

The Jets apparently could have traded him recently and cut their losses. We don't know about the return offered or the teams but the rumor was teams offered multiple pieces in return. So maybe management thinks he's a work in progress and worth keeping. Maybe not overall no. 3 material but he could be a decent long term starter. Even though he's big it's hard to spot him on the field. He's no. 95. But when I have seen him he doesn't play soft he just looks soft. Look Gase and Douglas didn't draft this guy so they have no loyalty to him. And Gase made it very clear around the draft he wasn't thrilled with Mac's choices in the draft or free agency. So let's wait and see.

We got picks for Leo with half a year on his contract and zero upside

Jets can absolutely get a first for Q

There is no blockbuster package for Q. Look at what he has and hasn’t done this year.

We don’t need a blockbuster package we need a first round pick which we can get

On another note, the kid Brown(#5 on Auburn) dominates games. Kind of what we thought we were getting in Q. Just an observation.

Trade Q and Adams we will have three first round picks and a chance to really rebuild this roster
