Since this kid has stepped on the field for us against the Giants, he's been one of the best CB's in the league. 

Assuming he finishes the season strong it will be nice knowing that going into the offseason we only have 1 starting CB spot that we need to fill. Give Maulet credit as well, he's done a nice job stepping in as a starter also.

didn't he struggle yesterday? I thought I remember him having a few big catches on him. 

We also had zero pass rush so that didn't help anyone.

I remember one specifically where the WR climbed a ladder to catch a ball and did a good job hanging on to it. I don't hold that against Bless much. Other than that, I think he did alright. I think we suffered more with Poole going down for a bit as well as Maulet. Canady got picked on. Then Adams was also hurt apparently. Terrible day for our pass D.

With that said, as good as Bless has been, he has also been injury prone, so I'd prefer not to rely on him-- at least build the depth as much as possible and have a lot of CB competition.

I remember 1 but I turned the game off with about 5 minutes left. He had good coverage on the play but failed to locate the ball and the WR basically mossed him. Hopefully he can improve his ability to locate the ball in those type of situations. They seemed to be picking on Maulet.

I didn't think he struggled. Auden Tate made a nice catch against him but Austin had good coverage. Dalton put the ball up high in a good spot and Tate (I believe it was him) made a good play. Regardless, that's only 1 play. I thought he did a good job.

I think it has gone mostly unnoticed that our DC made 2nd half adjustments and held them to 3 points.  (+Adams' bum foot)

Without a pass rush any secondary will be shredded by any QB.

Yes, though his tackling was exposed a few times in the first half yesterday. (Maulet had a nightmare and was playing hurt too). Hope they both learn from experience as we are only going to play better opposition.

Oh stop with this crap. A guy asked if he struggled. I don't feel like Bless struggled which is why JetNation social media had this today:

 

 

But someone should be able to question whether a player struggled without you throwing out the word stupid.

I think Bless will be fine - scratch it off  as just inexperience. He wasn't the problem yesterday -the Jets are one of few teams with an Offense that their Defense  is afraid of.

the guy has played 4 games against 4 teams …..  he will get exposed soon and everyone will be on him ….. 4 games tell you nothing about a player …… very little to judge on …. but maybe off to a good start

The only negative I've seen with him is that he seems to tackle by hitting the legs - but not wrapping up.  Typically the receiver goes down, but once yesterday I saw the receiver just bounce, and then keep on going.

Wide receivers in the NFL are tall should we not expect our corners to be able to cover them?

I'm not sure how much Maulet was getting picked on. He played less than half the snaps.

That makes it worse.  There were a lot of completions on him yesterday.

Much to the dismay of some fans, the other team has paid professionals too.

It's quite possible that sometimes a great play by an opposing player simply trumps a good play by the other player involved.

I don't think it matters at the end of the day. A starter is a starter. But he's got a bad injury history and still has only played a small sample size. The Jets would be wise to go after a top corner if one is available to pair Austin with.
