Lenny Dykstra says he blackmailed mlb umpires

Recommended Posts

Dykstra said on Artie Lange’s podcast in 1990 he hired a PI Firm and gave them $500,000 to follow umpires in off hours and get dirt on them.  He found out a bunch were degenerate gamblers, a bunch were cheating on their wives and one umpire was gay

Lenny then led the mlb in walks

This does not shock me at all about Lenny. He’s been troubled for a long time and frankly kind of a loser. Pretty funny about the corrupt umps though. Did he say if the umps were betting on games they were on the job for?

Two losers who definitely deserve each other. Talk about the bottom of the barrel.

This story has been around a while.

Personally, it is difficult for me to tell when Dykstra is telling the truth and when he is not.

He didn’t say that and he refused to name names

These guys are all crooks but hey let’s make gambling as easy as possible

Ok thanks.

I don’t think legalization of gambling will really affect officials betting on their sports. And either way they’re not going to go to a sports book they’ll still do it under the table in fear of being caught. Just my two cents but I could be way off.

I think the proliferation of gambling is going to make a bad situation even worse

You see Tisch credited legalized gambling in a big way as to why NFL ratings are up +5% year over year? That is downright scary. Every other commercial on the FAN now is gambling related.

It’s a bubble that’s going to burst eventually word will get out that most games have point shaving and crooked refs
