Yesterday's Attendance

Lower level end zone seats were as low as $15 yesterday. I have never seen them that low, that is crazy.

The Steelers game might be the worst game in terms of ratio of opposing fans in this stadium. Steelers fans travel well, a ton in this area. It is going to be bad, really bad.

I find it's more fun that way when we win.

All those sad Cowboys and Giants fans?  I'm sure you'll agree that put the cherry on top of those Sunday's.

Got to say very poor showing by Jets fans overall, far too many fish fans.  Tickets were cheap, perfect tailgate and football weather and entire rows in the upper deck were empty with many open seats in the Mezz and lower level.  We need the so called fans to get off their couch and get to the stadium.  Its embarrassing when you bring new people to the game and they say it looks like a preseason crowd.  Let have a better showing for the Steeler game.  No excuses Jet fans......   Tickets we will be cheap and last time this decade you can you go to the stadium.

no home playoff game?

Sorry but you can't blame people for not wanting to put in the effort to go see 2 craptastic teams play for cheap.

In the mind's of almost every fan, this season was never about the playoffs, so if it's opening day or Week 13 it shouldn't make a difference, one should attend these games to see the growth in young players.  Due to injury, we had a lot of them on display yesterday.

9 consecutive seasons out of the playoffs.

No excuses?

As Francesa says, nothing gets to owners more than empty seats.  Maybe the Johnson's will take the hint and do something constructive to fix this mess but don't hold your breath.

The mess has been fixed.  Injuries are an act of God.  Look at this team, look at our record, look at how they respond to adversity,  imagine what it would have been with the 22 missing starters on the field instead of on the IR.  Looks like a wildcard team on its way up to me.

What's wrong with you people.

Tickets were cheap.  I got mine for 6 bucks but I was literally at the very top. It’s funny I went with my son and we were sitting there like 5 minutes before tipoff and it was dead up there.  Then all of a sudden it got pretty busy.  Unfortunately it was a pain in the ass because the whole first quarter people were filing in and standing around

can i ask why would you buy those $6 tickets instead of spending $15 for lower level tickets?   you gonna pay the same for parking and all the food etc.  so the difference of $9 a ticket is probably like a very small portion.

but it's great that you got to go.  really nice to see that it's cheap enough for everyone to go.  my son had a blast at the game.

NY Jets fans WE need to take back our house!

Pre PSL's we had home field advantage, I will debate that with anyone who disagrees.

Opposing teams fans were far and few and if there was a large group they usually occupied a small portion of the UD.

Digital era changed all that. With easy and quick portability,  selling is easy. There was no real stubhub or Ticketmaster sales until mid 2000's.  It used to be impossible before that.  Youd have to send them to a scalp broker.

You will hear the same complaint across the NFL with a few exceptions. And I'd bet that it happens to non-PSL venues as much as PSL venues.  Also in other sports.

The Jets are averaging 20.3 points per game when Sam Darnold starts this season. Inconsistency is an issue but an improved oline will help next year. Do you know the last time a Jets QB averaged over 20 points per game?

1954. Seriously look it up, hasn't happened to a Jets QB since the mid 1950's. I mean, they weren't a team yet but still.

I do seriously hope someone looks up previous team points per game averages for Jets QBs.

Considering the injuries and the media firestorms, this is unquestionably one of the greatest seasons a Jets HC and Jets QB have ever had and the fans respond like this?  5-4 since Darnold's return?  Winners of 4 of their last 5 games?

It's crazy.

The better question is why would anyone waste an entire day, sitting out on the cold to watch two teams with nothing to play for when they can watch from home?

Because the Jets are playing their asses off and the coaches are coaching their asses off and at the very least they should expect the fans to cheer their asses off in a sign of appreciation.

Any more ridiculous SOJF questions?

All those empty seats all those people weren't standing they weren't there. That pic is not from yesterday.

Coaches Club fans always show up.  The seats are very expensive, they get within inches of the players, and the spread is like a fancy wedding.  They were at the game.  Just not in their seats.  Down low or eating.

I didn’t buy them.  Tickets were given to from a coworker.  He gave them to me free but I wanted to give him something so he said just to give him what they cost at that time which was obviously cheap

Pack it up and give it another shot next year.

Just having a fun time and making it a complete day from 8AM until post game.  Not a foolish way to spend the day.

I love going to the games. I have seriously modified my entire life around it. Football Sunday we are there as soon as the parking lot opens and we are one of the last to leave. We tailgated before the game and ate dinner after the game. The financial decision I made years ago to buy and RV was based in large part on using it 8 times a year to tailgate.

So I can't imagine any other way for me personally.

I know others don't feel the same way, my kids are older now so it is easier. But I went when they were young, we just steered them away from fall sports that involved a Sunday.

I totally get that others don't enjoy going. I talk to a lot of people that hate going. But there are a ton of people that don't go because of the price. So to your point, those people should have been there yesterday. I honestly think some people didn't realize how low ticket prices were.

In the past we have done ticket giveaways and there have been people begging for free tickets. Some of those weeks I looked and see tickets for $20. Always amazed me that the same person who wrote two pages on going to a Jets game being a life long dream wouldn't spend $20 to fulfill said dream lol.

I do realize that face value is too much for a lot of people. No shame in that, money can easily be better spend elsewhere. $15 seats though, jump on that.

Same here, you make the time to go to the game, esp when tickets are cheap if you are not a PSL or STH.  People should have been all over that yesterday.  Shame there were so many empty seats.  Pitt game is going to be the all time worst if Jet fans don't go.

But your post, I can't stop laughing. I am trying to keep the peace here, not sure that this being the greatest season ever is going to help the current mood on the site lol.

Come on, the team has been terrible for years. Better to commend the loyalty of those who do show up then knocking the ones who don’t want to give up an entire Sunday and drop $3-500+ on watching two bad teams play a meaningless game.

I don't want to hear another word about the stadium or whining about crowd noise when these pretzel-eating complainers DON'T FIX THE PROBLEM THEMSELVES.

Yes, if you are a fan at this team, you are seeing them actually get some future depth guys being developed, which is what this team needs and makes it fun to watch in person.
