jetstream23
The Jets are about to play their third and final primetime game of 2019, and these can't end soon enough! A few stats and thoughts... 1. The Jets last TNF game was a loss on the road to the Browns in 2018 in Week 3 by a score of 21-17, the game that launched Mayfield into the starting QB spot after Tyrod Taylor left injured. Their last victory was over the Bills in 2017 by a score of 34-21 at home in Week 9. 2. This will be the Jets' second primetime matchup intended to be between Quarterbacks taken in Round 1 of the 2018 Draft. The scheduling was obviously a point of emphasis for the NFL and putting Darnold-Mayfield and Darnold-Jackson matchups on the primetime schedule probably seemed like a great idea back last March. Obviously, Darnold missed the Week 2 game with Mono this year. 3. In two games so far the Jets have scored a grand total of 3 points. 4. I'm not sure what the record is for average margin of defeat or fewest points scored by a team playing 3 primetime games in a season but the Jets are currently looking at 56 Points Allowed and 3 Points Scored....with the Ravens looking add to the 53 point difference and the 26.5 Point average margin of defeat. 5. May God have mercy on the Jets tonight.
bitonti
of course you're probably right but It's hard to talk about team stats when it's the Luke Falk show

JustInFudge
It's going to be a bloodbath tonight and that's ok. We might lose 41-3 but if Darnold doesnt poop himself, I think I'll be happy. 1

Tonight is a really big test for a team that has won 4 out of their past 5 games against inferior opponents. Disappointing that we won’t have Jamal Adams as he typically gets up for these kinds of big games. There are no moral victories but I would be impressed if the Jets somehow find a way to keep this game competitive until the end of the 3rd quarter. At least try to be within striking distance, something like down by 10 points but having the ball to start the 4th quarter. Try not to be down by 3 touchdowns!
y2k8
You know it's bad when you're biggest hope for the game is that the Jets avoid humiliating the fanbase on prime time television again. I don't know what our record is in primetime the last 10-15 years, but it must be abysmal.

bitonti
to look at this matchup from the other side: The Ravens have been playing big game after big game At Los Angeles, vs SF, At Buffalo. These are like heavyweight fights and maybe they mike tyson'ed the Rams but the other two were 12 round battles and all of these games had a price They lost their center Matt Skura for the year vs LA and it's limited their offense last 2 games Starting left tackle Ronnie Stanley is doubtful in the concussion protocol. Mark andrews their TE is also banged up Lamar Jackson will play but practice was closed to the media and he's been limping noticeably all week. it's possible, as almost 17 point favorites at home, thinking this Jets team sucks and they can not show up quite as hard The Ravens are not good covering as double digit favorites and in fact they've only covered 2 of their last 4 games now to be clear Im not saying the Jets win just saying there is an outcome where they don't embarass us all for being fans 2

The only thing that gives me a tiny bit of hope is that the Jets have played well against the rush. Now, a rushing QB is a different animal and they haven't faced anybody as good as Lamar. In fact, I recall Josh Allen scampering for 12 yard runs in the second half of Week 1. But, Gregg Williams will be on the spot to keep his rush defense alert and performing at a high level, and he faced Jackson last year when coaching Cleveland. Unfortunately, that didn't turn out too well as Lamar carried 20 times for 90 yards.

Gibby
I hope this means no more than 1 next year. I hate them- start too late. Good news is- when they’re getting destroyed by mid second quarter I can go to bed normal time.
