Viermoo
Lamar Jackson isn’t just good. He’s flat out dominant. Changes the way an opponent plays defense in every way. All four of the QBs taken before him couldn’t hold his jock. Why was he so lowly rated? 3 2

Bugg
Ravens have a monster pass rush and a solid OL. It's a very good spot for Jackson. Suspect like his backup someday soon he either becomes more of a drop back passer(which he has the arm to do) or he takes too many hits and he gets hurt and isn't quite the same. But right now with a good OL, he's thriving.

Media, pre-draft: “He’s probably a fourth rounder as a QB and should work out at WR or RB if he wants to be in the league.” Media, last year: “Lamar struggled in the playoffs and the Ravens should be in the market for a QB.” Media, last three months: “Man, all you racists who doubted Lamar Jackson are so gross. Honestly, you should be ashamed of yourselves.” Media, after Lamar gets his ankle broken: “We all knew this would happen. The question is where do they go from here.” Media, in two years: “It’s nice of the Dolphins to sign Lamar Jackson to the league minimum so he can back up Mason Rudolph.”

Popular Post Beerfish
You have to give the Balt head coach and OC a ton of credit, they have designed an offense around him and let him do what he does best. He also went to a team that did it the right way, built other important aspects. Lamar by himself would not do near as well if he was on a sad sack team like the jets 8

Popular Post HawkeyeJet
31 scouting departments weren't wrong. Not all 31 teams have the coaches that are willing to basically switch from the most pro of pro style offenses with Flacco to something resembling an ACC offense. This is not a shot at Gase or an attempt to prop up Darnold. Some don't believe that coaching matters much. I'm not one of those. I think Xs and Os acumen can be a bit over exaggerated, but I firmly believe good/great coaches fit their scheme to their pieces. Bad coaches can't. 8

And, as far as his intellect, I don’t think there’s anyone who would hear him speak for five minutes who’d be comfortable burning a high pick on a him to play QB. He scored a 13 on the Wonderlic. All that said, he seems like a nice kid and he’s obviously killing it, but drafting him and designing an offense for him was a massive leap of faith for Harbaugh and the Ravens.

Comparisons; Dan Marino was thought to be a party animal idiot, and there's no danger of Brett Favre splitting the atom. Less anything to do with race than not being in a rush to make a less than cerebral guy your most important player.
