You just said that he deserved all the credit, but that we could have ended up with Rosen.  Rosen is a ******* horror show. The fact Rosen was "highly regarded at the time" means just about nothing. If he believed in BAP he would have taken Barkley, but you concede he wouldn't have.  Where does that leave you?

Trading up to the third spot to put your team in the position to draft a franchise QB was, and is a great move. Where does that leave you?

As stated in the rest of the thread, thinking it was a nice move done 3 years later than necessary.

If they ended up stuck, choosing between Barkley, Rosen, Allen and Jackson and took Rosen, you are willing to absolve Maccagnan because "Rosen was highly rated?"

Top Safety money is $14M (Byard, Landon Collins, etc). If you think for one moment Adams won’t want to be the highest paid safety you’re a lunatic. He’s already compared himself to Aaron Donald.

So there are a lot of teams lining.up to pay Adams $15 mil ???... Please do tell.

The safety market isn't what it used to be.  I still think that you can win with lesser guys, but some smart teams are paying large at safety.  Adrian Amos (the guy drafted with the pick we gave up for Brandon Marshall) is getting $9M per from the Packers.  The Ravens are paying Earl Thomas ($13.75M) and Tony Jefferson ($8.5M) at the same time.  That's like drafting safety in the first and in the second!

Besides, Adams has basically been playing LB for most of the year.  People will line up to pay him.  He has been playing great.  I am leaning towards keeping him, but we will see how it plays out.

He traded up to get a QB, and he came out with a QB. Fantastic move at the time, even better in retrospect. When you put yourself in a position to draft a QB and you get your QB, you get 100% of the credit. Macc's failures before and after this trade are irrelevant to the trade itself. His body of work is a failure, but trading up and landing Darnold was one of his successes.

As stated many times before, it was a fantastic move. You seem to disagree. We are going to have to leave it at that.
