Sonny Werblin 4,504 #8 Posted December 20, 2019 I was there. It was a surreal 3 weeks. Jets beat the Defending SB champion Pats on the road, then destroyed Favre and the Pack at home in the season finale to win the division. Then the train kept rolling right over Peyton and the Colts. it may have been the finest 3 consecutive weeks of football for the Jets since 1969. 6

Wonder if Sam has ever hung with him, good influence

Adoni Beast 3,801 #14 Posted December 20, 2019 This game / Week prior against GB / ‘09 Home Opener against NE were the best games I’ve ever been to. I can’t imagine what our fans and the media would say if Sam Darnold and the Jets put up a playoff performance like the one Peyton (in his 5th season) and co. did that day, with a hof coach, hof wr, and a loaded roster. 1

MicDrass1 50 #18 Posted December 20, 2019 And wasn’t after this season the Jets front office let OL Mackenzie and Randy thomas Walk? Next season Pennington breaks wrist in meaningless preseason game against giants playing with 2nd and 3rd string Olineman. Jets org screwed what could have been a special team for years up.

IndianaJet 3,402 #21 Posted December 20, 2019 1 hour ago, MicDrass1 said: They held our Wrs every play. Nfl fix. Pennington was crazy good when healthy. Penningon always struggled against good press man to man coverage and he ate up a cover two zone team like the Colts. Lots of smarts to know where the throw the ball against a zone, little arm strength to fit the ball into tight coverage.
y2k8 1,448 #22 Posted December 20, 2019 The Jets have hosted 7 home playoff games in franchise history and only 5 post merger. This was the last one. My son was 2 months old when this game was played and he goes to college next fall. The Jets have played in 10 playoff games since this one. TEN consecutive road playoff games. Must be a record. 1

Thomas and Coles went to Washington. Coles as an RFA and Thomas as a UFA. Jets actually got a first for Coles, but used it to trade up for DeWayne Robertson. Jets let McKenzie walk in 2005 (Giants)

docdhc 4,028 #26 Posted December 20, 2019 It was a great game. And the Colts should have got rid of that bust Peyton Manning after a performance like that. At least our fan base would have called for that.
jetscrazey 3,046 #27 Posted December 20, 2019 I was there in person....and yet it still doesn't seem real that this game happened. A 41-0 home playoff win against Peyton Manning? Nah that couldn't have happened.

Remember that Parcells left us in cap hell, if not for the 2002 expansion draft that saved our call we don't see this division title. 2003 was married by Chad's injury but they made moves to win 10 games and get within a kick of the AFC championship game a year later. Richie Anderson is still running after catching that screen pass After watching some of the video, I was amazed to see 3 O lineman escorted Anderson down the field on that screen pass. They were 30 yards downfield making blocks. Every time I've seen a Jet O lineman more than 5 yards past the line of scrimmage this season, they were called for illegal man downfield.
