If this true, here is why Bradway demoted

From yesterdays StarLedger:

"

Oddly, the Jets let Bradway hire Mangini knowing they were going to demote him, and Bradway said he didn't talk to Mangini about Schottenheimer until after he was hired. "

Holy bat****,,,

If this true he would have to be demoted for pure ignorance. Picking a OC without consulting the HC about what direction/philosophy/schemes he would like in a OC?

Again, if this true another example of Bradway hiring buddies (Marty great friends with Bradway and Marty almost out door in SD so 'please find my son a job') and all the damn KC hires, Herm leading the list.

Here is a quote from Newsday:

But it had become clear, particularly when Mangini hired offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer without consulting Bradway, that Bradway's influence had waned while Tannenbaum's had grown.

ok, i feel better

The real reason Bradway was demoted: he was rediculously inept. He gave away the farm for some magic beans, then let the beans out of their contract. When you become the laughingstock of the league for giving your head coach up for a fourth rounder, letting the skins raid your talent, hiring and re-hiring the likes of testaverde, Q. Carter, keeping bollinger around when you have an injury prone QB, giving up second rounders just for the fun of it, losing nearly-locked-up D-back vets like winfeild and lynch because you forgot to bring a pen to the signing, giving up half a draft for a hobbled chubster who was outplayed by the seventh rounder lining up beside him, passing on Heath Miller for Doug Jolley and a kicker, handing over a starting linebacker to Minnesota for a 7th round pick, then giving up a pick for Pete Hunter who never made the squad, drafting a reach DE when you had two starting 1st round pro-bowl vet DE's, paying 64 mil for Penny, signing Damien Robinson and Sam Garnes and Chester McGlockton, releasing any decent young OL project we had, and getting us into Salary Cap Hell. These are likely the reasons he was demoted. I'm just guessing.

the one thing that i still dont like is the fact that TB wasnt just outright fired....its almost as if they felt bad for him so they created the demotion scam and kept him on. just fire the guy like any other organization would do

would normally agree with u DK,,,but actuality is that Bradway is a good filme and onfield COLLEGE scout. If u r gonna pay the turd might as well get to smell him.

He cant handdle pressure or pro personell, trades, free agency,,but he is a local yokel at the motel8 pure old fashioned scout. he finally realized it and said 'Tom Wolfe' me.........

Bradway did not know how to negotiate a contract. Period. Tannenbaum does. Mangini is going to make all personell decisions, Tannenbaum is going to work out the contracts, without any human element, whatsoever. It's business.

Bradway and Herm got too involved. They were both people pleasers. They wanted to be friends with the players, not bosses. Bradway totally screwed up the handling of Coles, McKenzie, Thomas, etc. He's completely screwed up the handling of Abraham.

Is Mangini qualified to make all the personell decisions? Remains to be seen. Bottom line, Herm and Bradway are gone. And that's a good thing.

And even if Tannenbaum and Mangini fail, there is no way they will leave this team in the big mess that the last two regimes, did. So it's all good. The Jets aint winnin' sht next year no matter what. The team is in transition. We stand to gain all if Mangini and Tannenbaum prove to be exceptional, and lose very little if they don't. The alternative was to hire a retread, keep Bradway, and maybe go 8-8 for two years. Then, in 2008, after two more years of CYA panic signings by Bradway, the new GM inherits a horrible cap mess.

You guys who want to put a black cloud over this new regime, stop reading Cannizaro.

Agree.

Terry will have imput on the draft, and scout other areas. That's what he does best. Files reports on players. But personnel-wise, or running a team, that is not his strong point. He is a behind the scene guy.

Sort of like the diligent worker in the office, gets all the detail stuff done, does his job well, nose to the grindstone. When he gets promoted to supervision, he flops, as he can't make decisions. Just let him sit in his corner, and do the grunt work.

That's Terry.
