We need a route runner for Darnold.

He is elite.

Not worth it even if he was free... Just look at the past history of diva WRs in the Jets locker room... Marshall (fights with Sheldon and Revis, season down the tubes), Mason (causes such a problem the team cuts him), Keshawn (traded), etc. etc.

NO has a real shot at the SB.  So they would only have to put up with Brown's

foolishness for 3 games.  Worthwhile risk then you cut him, just like Janoris

Jenkins who they picked up

You'd have to run a base nickel or even dime formation on 1st down just to defend Brown and Thomas.  It'll be fun to watch.  And yes, it's a pretty solid gamble on their part.  Really no risk as that locker room can handle AB if he's a mild pain, and it's hard to imagine he'd completely blow things up at this point in less than a month.

NO vs. BAL will be the best SB lineup in years.  Although I'm not ruling out KC at this point.

I wanted this guy here.

You wanted what!?

We have a culture to build on in the locker room, our team has been going thru the same cycle of getting flattened and falling a part for the last decade +.

The LAST thing this team needs is AB’s influence and distraction. The Saints can do this, they are a continuous contender with a solid foundation already built

We’re fragile right now.

They could be signing him specifically for tactical reasons, considering the NFL might/might not allow him to play anyways. Keep him out of other opponents hands so he cant be used against you.

Yep.  This would be a move for next season, at earliest.  The NFL could not simply allow a playoff team to sign him late in the season and use him on a playoff run.

Unless of course the league goes back on their stance, which also wouldn't be surprising.

IF the NFL reinstates him.

If he's in shape he maybe can contribute in a playoff game.

I wouldn't want to risk bringing in a side show a wee before the playoff start to help add to an already potent offense.  Not like NO has a problem scoring points or passing the ball
