Jamal Adams Backs up the big Talk With First-Team All Pro nod

Since being chosen with the sixth overall pick out of LSU just three seasons ago, Jets safety Jamal Adams has spent a lot of time talking the talk in promoting himself on social media, and now he can say he’s walking the walk. After earning his first ever First-Team All Pro spot, Adams becomes the first player since Jets great Darelle Revis to earn that distinction.

After being names a second-team all pro last season along with his first pro bowl appearance, Adams hoped to take his game to another level this season and he did just that.

According to pro football focus, Adams ranked in the top seven in every graded category in 2019. Of course, if you watched Adams play in 2019, you wouldn’t have needed PFF or anyone else to tell you Adams was playing at an elite level.

PFF ranks Jamal Adams no worse than 7th in the NFL among safeties with over 300 snaps played in every category they grade.

With his third year now in the books, Adams will be looking for a huge pay raise as he’s due to make $3.6 million in 2020 while Bears safety Eddie Jackson has agreed to a new deal that will pay him just under $15 million per season, so look for Adams to seek a deal that will make him the highest paid safety in NFL history, topping $15 million per year. That is of course, unless the Jets would rather move Adams this offseason for multiple premium picks.

Whatever the future may hold for Adams, a tip of the cap is well deserved for his play this season.
