Take this with a grain of salt, but pro-football-reference.com has their own "AV" rating to assess a player's career value in one number in order to compare across positions and eras.

Here is the leaderboard among the 2017 draft picks:

  1. RB Alvin Kamara, NO (pick 3.67):  41 AV Rating
  2. OT Ryan Ramczyk, NO (1.32);  40
  3. RB Christian McCaffrey, CAR (1.8):  39
  4. QB Pat Mahomes, KC (1.10):  39
  5. QB Deshaun Watson, HOU (1.12):  38
  6. EDGE T.J. Watt, PIT (1.30):  32
  7. CB Tre'Davious White (1.27):  30
  8. S Eddie Jackson, CHI (4.112):  29
  9. S Jamal Adams, NYJ (1.6):  28
  10. RB Kareem Hunt, KC (3.86):  28
  11. QB Mitchell Trubisky, CHI (1.2):  27
  12. RB Joe Mixon, CIN (2.48):  24
  13. WR Juju Smith-Schuster, PIT (2.62):  24
  14. TE George Kittle, SF (5.146):  24

  18. DE Myles Garrett, CLE (1.1):  22
  19. OT Garett Boles, DEN (1.20):  21
  20. LB Zach Cunningham, HOU (2.57):  21
  21. C Pat Elflein, MIN (3.70):  21

One of these is not like the others *cough* *cough* #11

Agreed.  Though he did have a pretty good year 2 in the league (24 TD / 12 INT, 66.6 % completions, 7.4 YPA).

But of course we know that was the anomaly.  Years 1 and 3 will be the "norm" for him moving forward.  That AV score is going to plummet.

Hmm.  So 1 data point is "questionable" (but not really, since they're only using career #'s) so throw the whole thing out?

Point taken, maybe a tad of an overreaction.? Put it this way, 3 years later, would Trubisky even be in the conversation for a 1st rounder?

Thinking of positional value it’s just amazing that Mac went back to back safeties with the Jets 1st 2 picks in that draft.

And meanwhile we could have taken Eddie Jackson in the 3rd/4th; Jackson is significantly better than Maye and in the same ballpark as Jamal.

Imagine if we'd have taken Watson/Mahomes, Cook/Kamara, and Eddie Jackson with 3 of our first 4 picks?

Jets-10.5 over the Titans sunday.? I'd have to give up a few days of our baseball trivia.

And while we're at it throw in George Kittle with our 4th rounder lol championship

Is there anyone here who wouldn’t trade Jamal Adams for Juju, George Kittle, or Dalvin Cook?
