I wanted to just be silly and see what going WR/WR could hypothetically look like by passing on OL in the 1st 2d RD's.

I kind of love it, assuming Higgins does fall to 48

 Holy Weapons, Batman!

That would be an unreal addition of skill position talent in one draft.  Ruggs, Higgins and Swift all have Pro Bowl potential.

Obviously, the cost here is not getting a solid OT prospect and no CBs.....two positions of serious need.  I like Willekes a lot.

Didn't expect to see Gross-Matos there in the 2nd.  Had to pull the trigger.  He could be the dynamic edge rusher this team has been starving for.  Got the elite WR1 early and cam back in Round 3 for a good OT prospect in Peart to double-dip at WR by adding Peoples-Jones.  After getting the speedy McFarland in the 4th I came back with 3 DBs to wrap up the Draft.

In the above scenario I'd have to hope the Jets make another veteran move at LT for the 2020 season.  Either signing Jason Peters for one season or possibly a trade of Jamal Adams that brings back Pro Bowler Tyron Smith and a Draft pick from Dallas.

Really bored - mocking everyday with diff big boards.

YOUR PICKS
1: R1P11
OT JEDRICK WILLS
ALABAMA

Wills is my favorite OT in the draft. Jeudy and Lamb were gone, so the choice was really easy. Even if one of them fell to us and Willis were there - for me, it's a tough decision. He's a franchise LT. I doubt he makes it to 11, but you never know. Things I like about him:

- Junkyard dog mentality, nasty demeanor and finishes hard/strong - I LOVE THIS in any player.

- Very powerful/elite athleticism

- Outstanding footwork

- Elite technique/Very food with his hands

- Very intelligent zone blocker - the Jets run a zone scheme.

2: R2P16
WR CHASE CLAYPOOL
NOTRE DAME

- Elite Size (6'4/238LBS), 4.4 Speed, very strong/physical receiver, Enunwa didn't pan out. Claypool can be our redzone target.

- Very competitive (you see a trend with what I want?)

- Great ball skills, master at 50/50 balls

- Nasty run block demeanor

3: R3P4
CB BRYCE HALL
VIRGINIA

- Great blitzer, shows patience and great vision getting to QB (just a plus here)

- Elite footwork, always in a position to make a play on the ball.

- Very Physical (in a good way) - I don't like SOFT players, this is a violent game - be violent. I have a heavy bias towards that blue collar mentality.

- Versatile as far as coverages go. Has played many schemes. Projects best as a zone defender, BUT holds his own in man to man.

4: R3P15
C LLOYD CUSHENBERRY III
LSU

If we decide to draft a Center, we can move McGovern to Guard (his natural position).

- Thick frame, 6'4, 315LBS

- Rare length for a Center, Elite grip strength - helps him consistently get first contact and win battles on inside.

- Another junkyard dog - plays with a competitive edge & finishes strong.

- Has the IQ to play Center. Lacks elite athleticism, just average here - could move to guard as a result, but I think his elite traits will offset this because he does possess functional athleticism that lets him have success most of the time against speed and he can anchor against powerful D-Linemen consistently.

R4P14
RB AJ DILLON
BOSTON COLLEGE

- Most violent RB in draft, PERFECT running style to compliment Bell. Imagine Curtis Martin/LaMont Jordan (That's what I see here)

- Moves the pile, has athletic ability to leap over them on short yardage scenarios.

- Plays tough, grinds out inside runs, but has the versatility for zone runs and pitches. Great Stiff arm. Doesn't have the speed (4.53 40 at combine) to get around edge consistently, but is so physical, he can do it when he needs to.

- He's 6'0, 247LBs, Depending how we use him, he may need to drop a few lbs but he's just a bulldozer. Reminds me of Derrick Henry a little bit. He's an absolute battering ram, who shows quick feet for his size and some versatility as far as scheming him.

6: R5P12
EDGE BRODERICK WASHINGTON
TEXAS TECH

- Junkyard dog/plays very violent, very competitive/tough, very strong.

- Known for work ethic and leadership.

- Very instinctive, high football IQ.

- Very aggressive with hands, times punch well, is able to separate himself from blocks with hands/upper body power combo.

7: R6P12
S J.R. REED
GEORGIA

I don't think he will drop to round 6, most boards seem to have him ranked around here though, so why not?

- Very good instincts & anticipation. Comes from NFL Bloodlines.

- Ball hawk, always goes to jar the ball loose.

- Covers tight ends & big slot receivers with consistency.

- Violent, plays very tough.

- Elite tackler.
8: R6P32
G KYLE MURPHY
RHODE ISLAND
RECENT PICKS

One of my late round sleepers.

- Position flexibility/very versatile.

- Nasty field demeanor, plays with a chip on his shoulder and loves to finish.

- High football IQ.

- Quick feet, really good footwork, very nimble - a lot of this due to his time playing basketball - was team captain.

- Projected to best fit as a LG in a zone blocking scheme (the jets run that).

Since there's a rumor ATL is looking to trade up to 11, I did a mock w/that. Unfortunately all the big tackles were gone at 16 in this scenario.

So I ran 2 separate simulations with the potential Atlanta trade that is being discussed.  We gave up 11 and 191 and received 16 and  78.  (I thought that price was pretty low but the site didnt let me get any better).  I ran one taking a WR at 16 and one taking an OT.    I can't see someone like Josh Jones falling in this draft, so I really think it comes down to how much JD likes the second tier OTs like Prince or Niang because if there is a situation where Jerry Jeudy is available at 16, I dont know how you pass on it.

   16   Jerry Jeudy                                          Andrew Thomas

48   Prince Tega Wanogho                          KJ Hamler

   68   Clyde Edwards-Hellaire                      Cam Akers

78   Damon Arnette                                   Jonathon Greenard Edge

   79  Jonathon Greenard                             Chase Claypool

120  Jonah Jackson                                   Jonah Jackson IOL

158  Anfernee Jennings Edge                  Dane Jackson CB

211  Yasir Durant OT                                 Calvin Throkmorton IOL

This was a weird one for me. I felt incredibly lucky with the first three picks, then I found less WR's I liked going forward but I still think it's a very good draft. I think got 3 day one starters tbh, but I did not adequately address the WR position. I like Peoples-Jones but the dude is definitely a roll of the dice. Hodgins just might not be athletic enough to contribute regularly.
