There are 3 or 4 prime olineman out there early so of course they are projecting us to go defense because all of the olineman are gone. UnitedWhofans
What we do know about Joe Douglas is that he focuses on the trenches. OL and DL. So if OL is a reach, the logical path for him would be DL. And honestly I believe the WR position is a tad overrated in the NFL outside of the freakish athletes. (Jeudy I would count in that category.)

TheClashFan
NO! Many of these draft lists try to figure the best "value" pick for the team. Edge and CB are glaring needs for the team, but the first pick must be offense, ideally OT. The entire OL is a huge need. Build around the QB, for God's sake! Hey, if there is a run on OT early, then TRADE DOWN to a team looking to scoop up some top 5-6 player who has slipped. Then look at OT or WR, since there will still probably be good players available in the teens. 1

And for the Jets, they need to straight up STAY AWAY. -Production not impressive at all. -Major injury red flags. -Not impressed at all with his pass rush moves- relies 100% on his athletic ability which will not get him far in the NFL. -Looks like he could get devoured in the run game at the NFL level. I wouldn't be surprised if he blew up the combine and rose on some boards. But there is no way he goes that high in the draft- for all the reasons I just mentioned.

joewilly12
Jets 2020 NFL Mock Draft roundup: Here's who the experts have Gang Green taking Many believe Joe Douglas will get some O-line help By Scott Thompson | 3:31PM Share: Sep 16, 2017; Louisville, KY, USA; Clemson Tigers defensive lineman Christian Wilkins (42) tries to move past Louisville Cardinals offensive lineman Mekhi Becton (73) during the second half at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. Clemson defeated Louisville 47-21. Mandatory Credit: Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports (Jamie Rhodes) All but two teams -- the Chiefs and 49ers -- are left to worry about their offseasons with Super Bowl LIV set for Feb. 2. While NFL free agency kicks off in March, the efforts of scouting top NFL Draft prospects will ramp up. The Jets have the No. 11 overall pick in this year's Draft after picking at No. 3 in 2018 and 2019. Sam Darnold and Quinnen Williams were used with those selections. Who will join them with the latest first round selection in GM Joe Douglas' first draft? Here's what experts believe will happen... NFL.com: DE K'Lavon Chaisson, LSU In Daniel Jeremiah's first mock draft of the season, he has the Jets passing on a No. 1 receiver like Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb as well as offensive line help. But Douglas still needs to upgrade his defensive line, too, and that's where this standout from the College Football Playoff comes into play. At 6-foot-4, 250 pounds, Chaisson was an animal to finish off his junior season. He collected 4.5 sacks in the three previous games leading up to the national championship, and though he didn't record one in that game, he was a pest to Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence. Gregg Williams would love to have a playmaker on the line like him, and Douglas provides that here. Sports Illustrated: OT Tristan Wirfs, Iowa As we mentioned, the Jets' offensive line needs some serious work -- and that spans across every position. The tackle spots are the most important, though, and that is where the Jets improve here with a Big Ten stud. Wirfs, standing at 6-foot-5, 322 pounds, is a beast. The Draft Network loves his athleticism, and says "he's got grace and nimble feet despite his looming stature." That's exactly what you want out of a tackle, no matter where that will be on the line. Though Kelvin Beachum has been average on the left side, the Jets would much rather fix the right side first with Brandon Shell and Chuma Edoga splitting those duties last season. Beachum could always shift over to the right if the Jets wanted Wirfs on the left. Either way, he's a solid pass and run blocker that Darnold would appreciate. Sporting News: OT Austin Jackson, USC Jackson has found his way up the draft ranks lately, as experts are beginning to see just how athletic he is. At 6-foot-6, 310 pounds, he's great in pass protection and he actually makes up for some technique mistakes because of the athleticism. That might not fly in the NFL, but the Jets are banking on developing that rawness into what could be Darnold's blindside protection for years to come. The draft process, including the NFL Combine, could boost his draft stock more after interviews and measurables come through. Walter Football: OT Mekhi Becton, Louisville If you thought Wirfs and Jackson were massive, you might want to find a different word for Becton. He's 6-foot-7, 369 pounds. Let that sink in. When you read that height and weight, immediately thinking Becton is slow or doesn't move well would naturally come to mind. But that's the thing: you're wrong. Scouts like his technique that goes along with his pro-level power on his blocks. Not only will Darnold love him on the left side, but Le'Veon Bell would be happy to run behind him as well. SB Nation: WR CeeDee Lamb, Oklahoma Not all believe O-line is the top priority for Douglas. Instead, the player many believe is the top receiver in the draft falls to the Jets and Douglas can't resist a potential No. 1 receiver for his quarterback. Lamb, 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, has an incredible ability to haul in the football no matter the circumstances. The Draft Network loves his ability to track the football and he has a natural way of positioning his body to seal off any chance of his defender breaking up the pass. Lamb is also very solid in route-running -- an area where some believe he beats Jeudy. From his play-making abilities after the catch and affinity for making deep balls count, Lamb will have a field day with Darnold throwing the pigskin his way.

Or after they won a couple to get off the one-win schneid? "Okay guys, you've demonstrated that you can win a couple, but any more wins and you're gonna really start to effect our draft position next year!" I get being unhappy with that last game of the season win that moves them from the #1 pick to #3 or something like that, but this past season was nothing like that. It was a nice second half of the year that had our young QB playing well. And frankly, our young QB playing well is a lot more important, long and short term, than a spot or two in the draft, IMHO. I'm just tired of this annual whine that the Jets failed to lose enough the previous year. That you're either trying to make the playoffs or you're trying to get the highest pick in the draft that you can. There's middle ground. Hate Gase all you want, but the guy is the head coach and he needs to get the team to buy into his program. That's his job. He does that by demonstrating that his way can win games. 1
