Problem is there isn’t a good Left Tackle available.  The Colts are going to resign Castonzo

Brick played well as a rookie.  Cam Robinson as a rookie second round pick couple years ago played really well at LT

As did Jason Fabini...

Imagine Stephen Ross trying to tell his head coach about players he wanted the team to go and get.

Adam Gase screams at the Dolphins owner about not knowing football.

He got the Jets owner to fire the GM

Let's be honest. Neither of those particular incidents were without merit.

Stephen Ross probably doesnt know a lot about football and Maccagnan being fired was loved by all

Good point. Then re-sign Beachum and sign Scherff. You get beat off the edge, you can deal with that. You get beat in the middle, you're toast.

Well, if you get one of the top OTs you really don't know how quickly they will acclimate to the LT position in the NFL. A guy like Wirfs may end up being a decent starter year one and only improve going forward, even though he'd be more comfortable at RT. However, yes, that does mean that as insurance the Jets need at least bring back Beachum. Maybe if they get Conklin he can play LT if needed.

But you get beat off the edge you are more likely to allow a strip sack but you get your QB KILLED b/c he doesn't see the pass rusher coming. At least if the pocket collapses inside the QB can escape or get rid of the ball or at the very least protect the ball and get ready to take a hit.

Seriously who ******* cares. Whoever the Jets draft is going to be a bust. This team whiffed on every draft pick 3 times in the last decade. This organization is so out of touch and inept at doing anything productive or positive that it is impossible they don’t **** this entire draft up as well. And furthermore, Gase will run this team into the ground, good players out of the building and the owners will just give him another extension after ruining Darnold and losing any chance of landing FA’s

And then the sun will explode and we'll all be gone.

I like the first paragraph. Can't say exactly the same about the 2nd paragraph. I know, neither is good, but getting beat on the edge is as much about the clock in a QBs head. When you're getting jailbreaks all along the interior, you can't run OR pass. That's the worst because the QB starts looking at the rush when it's up the middle. You can also chip with a TE on the edge.

To be able to run, you need BEEF in the middle. There's really no substitute. The 1998 Denver Broncos model just doesn't work in today's NFL.

Well, except for the people on this board who acted like firing one of the worst GMs we have ever had was a bad move because of when it happened.
