He left 2 kids behind. It's been 4 years and thank god the kids are doing well but the shock and sadness take a long time to overcome. Still think about him almost daily. Kind of welled up when I heard about this.. brought me back to that day. God bless the family he leaves behind. Thank you so much for sharing... I’ve never been comfortable flying. I was in the city working with my father during 9/11 and I didn’t get in a plane for many years after that. I still will never get in a helicopter or small plane. Today was just a gut punch. I was already shocked hearing about Kobe but hearing about his daughter just makes this horrendous being a parent myself. Again my prayers go out to his family

Popular Post King P
This definitely hits hard. As a kid growing up watching basketball, my 2 favorite players in the post Jordan era were Vince and Kobe. Used to rock the 8 jersey back before it was cool. Growing up Shaq was the more popular guy. But I was team Mamba from the beginning. It hurts now that he's gone, I'm legit sad asf 😢 Long Live GOATbe 🙏🏽 5

Popular Post HawkeyeJet
Its moments like this that make you remember ultimately sports are just an extra spice of life. Not the real important stuff. However, it is also a reminder that sports are one of the things in life that can bring you pure joy. This news hurts so many people because whether or not any fan actually knew him, he provided them with great joy and memories. For Lakers fans, I'm sure it's almost as if you lost a close friend. 5
jetstream23
It may have been Altobelli's daughter, Alyssa, who is around 14 years old that was the teammate of Gigi, also on the helicopter. Just horrible.

Irish Jet
Just feeling numb to this. In total shock. He was literally the reason I was a basketball fan. Just incredible to watch and would put on a show of skill that was incomparable at the time. Devastating. RIP. playtowinthegame
I'm still in shock over this. I recently watched his interview with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson and thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to the end. A week later he's gone...My heart goes out to everyone and their families impacted by today's tragic events. Vanessa lost her husband and a daughter today. RIP Kobe, Gianna and all the other victims. JTJet
Outside of his accolades in the NBA, this will always be one of my favorite videos that exists on the internet. Seeing Kobe at home, watching football, just like any one of us, reacting to his favorite team finally sealing the deal. The video speaks volumes to his character and personality. 4
Irish Jet
I still watch his highlight videos pretty regularly. This has hit me harder than any celebrity death I can remember. It’s Kobe. Felt he was invincible.

HawkeyeJet
Kobe was 41. Played 20 years in the NBA. Literally half his life was as an NBA player. That is just incredible and incredibly sad when you think about it. 1
