Trade Q. Williams and do not extend Jamal Adams until 2021

Recommended Posts

Get the highest pick for Q. Williams and keep Jamal Adams under his rookie contract for 2020.  First, we need to salvage McCoffee's mistake and get the most out of this 1st round bust.  Secondly, there are too many holes to prioritize the safety position for a player that still has 2 years left under his rookie contract.  JD, you will regret extending a safety and strapping the cap when there are too many damn holes to fill for the best interest of the team.  If he wants to hold out, trade him!

Why does anyone think that another team wants to give up premium picks for our garbage? If QW was so great why the hell would anyone want to trade him, he is a kid going into his 2nd year under a rookie contract.

Because most nfl gm’s know better than to give up on a player after just one year

every player is vulnerable to being traded except for maybe darnold.  as for qwill, i don't think they'd get a 1st rounder for him.  he's showed some good ability.  it's more of a matter if he can fit into williams defense.  as for adams, it doesn't make much sense to wait until next season to extend his contract.  i may be wrong but for them to keep him for the single season he will get paid the average of the top players at his position or something like that.  that means his last season he will receive around 15 million.  if they extend him now, they can control when the cap hit occurs and it will be for less than if they keep him for his option year.

No one is going to trade for QW today.

Jamal Adams will not play in 2020 without a new deal.

Sorry.

How to get the most out of one of the topped ranked player in last years draft.

Dump him for 20 cents on the dollar.  Because somehow getting a low pick for the 3rd overall pick makes your team better.  Why wait?  ?

When this all shakes out, Jamal is never going to play out this season for just $7M without causing trouble. Not happening.

Why trade q Williams? We have literally never seen the kid play healthy and he was the only player aside from darnold who our gm was not even willing to entertain offers on? If you have faith in jd that should say there is more to qw than we have seen. Give him another year before we call him a bust.

What could we get for a package of Q Williams, Jamal Adams, Sam Darnold?  I'm thinking multiple 1st rounders.  THAT is how you get the capital to rebuild a team!

Nobody wants Q Will right now for anything of value. You can get his production from a late round pick or UDFA.

This, the contract for the Jets #3 pick is four years, $32.5 million with a $21.7 million signing bonus - Jets would eat ~$15m in cap space by trading him, just hope he tries to reduce his cheeseburger intake and actually makes an effort to play football next year - dude is set for life after one good looking year on a stacked bama defense - he knows it and mac sure as hell should have known it

another feel good story for the Mac foundation - he gave away millions, expecting nothing in return

RE the Mike Mac Foundation for Overrated Prospects.

Not really a non-profit, though, since the Jets paid Mac lots of $ to run it! But then again, maybe those who run non-profits make pretty good cash?

:-)

I think we should create a thread to highlight the many "feel good" stories of the Mac foundation, changing lives everywhere - hack gets $5m, former stockroom clerk gets drafted in 3rd round, injured players getting more money from Mac Foundation than from the NFLPA :)
