Feb. 25: First day for clubs to designate franchise or transition players Feb. 25 - March 2: NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis March 10: Prior to 4 p.m., New York time, deadline for clubs to designate Franchise or Transition Players March 16-18: Clubs are permitted to contact and negotiate contracts with impending unrestricted free agents. March 18: All clubs must be under the 2020 Salary Cap prior to 4 p.m. ET March 18: All 2019 player contracts will expire at 4 p.m. ET March 18: Free agency begins at 4 p.m. ET, as does the new league year March 29 - April 1: Annual League Meeting in West Palm Beach, Fla. April 6: Clubs that hired a new head coach after the end of the 2019 regular season may begin offseason workout programs. April 17: Deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets April 20: Clubs with returning head coaches may begin offseason workout programs. April 23 - 25: 2020 NFL Draft April 27: NFL clubs may request permission to visit with, try out, or sign any player who was under contract to the XFL at the conclusion of XFL season. May 1 - May 4: Clubs may elect to hold their one three-day post-Draft rookie minicamp from Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday. May 5: Deadline for prior club to send “May 5 Tender” to its unsigned unrestricted Free Agents. May 8 - 11: Clubs may elect to hold their one three-day post-Draft rookie minicamp from Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday. May 14 - 17: NFLPA Rookie Premiere May 19: Spring League Meeting July 13 - 24: Clubs are permitted to open training camp for rookies July 15: Franchise player extension deadline August 6: Hall of Fame game August 6 - 8: Hall of Fame Weekend in Canton, Ohio Sept. 5: Final cut-down day at 4 p.m. ET Sept. 5: Deadline to activate players from physically unable to perform list (PUP) Sept. 6: End of the cut-down day waiver wire at noon ET.
