NY Jets Need to Sign or Draft a Leader Center.

Not the biggest need by far. As long as Harrison is on a cheap contract and healthy he is a decent starter.

Jets need 2 legit starting OGs (assuming winters gets cut- which he will) and 2 legit starting OTs. A starting CB to play opposite Bless (Roberts and Tru are trash and both will be cut). A WR who can play on the outside. And and edge rusher. Let's start with that. Oh, a Nickel CB would be nice too.

This is where I'm at. The talent at C is lacking in the draft and there's just average talent in FA, we shouldn't focus on this position this offseason. I don't see a CB worth picks in the first 3 rounds at the expense of WR or OT talent. FA can bring us a guy like Bradberry or Jones and that along with bringing back Maulet and possible Brian Poole means we've found talent for our secondary. FA also has decent guards that are upgrades to Winters at the same or lesser cost and we can bring back Lewis for cheap.Plugging guard and CB in FA puts us in position to focus on the strengths of the draft.

Steps to becoming a leader center:

- Go on  social media and declare yourself 'THE GENERAL"

- Self promote on social media as often as possible.

- After your first year declare that you need more DAWGS on the oline.

- Compare yourself to Nick Mangold and Kevin Mawae after 1 1/2 years in the league.

- Rant at the team when some web site says a team offered to trade for you and refuse to talk to the coach or the GM about it, however scuttle off to the owners office to have your head patted.

- Expect to be the highest paid center in the league after 3 years of leading your team to no playoff appearances and a tops of 7 wins.

Our OL was great with Mawae and Mangold.

Free Agents

Connor McGovern  Broncos

B.J Finney Steelers

Ted Karras NE

Ben Garland SF

Here's how ya do it.  Good scouting.   I *GUARANTEE* there is an interior lineman in the draft who's name is not yet known to the talking heads.  This individual will be drafted between round 4 and 7.  He has all the physical tools and intangibles to follow in the footsteps of Schmidt, Fields, Sweeny, Mawae & Mangold...

Is JD a good GM ??? Does he run a good scouting department ???

If so, that as of yet unnamed individual will be a Jet in 2020.

Left out the hard parts.

Get all of your coaches to call you a leader

Get all of your teammates to call you a leader.

You forgot one:

- Tackle the mascot of a divisional rival before a meaningless Pro Bowl game.

And you need to fix this one:

- Expect to be the highest paid center Offensive Lineman in the league after 3 years of leading your team to no playoff appearances and a tops of 7 wins.

Become an ALL PRO C. I.E Be really good at your position. I don't care how good of a 'leader' you are, if you aren;t any good at your position, nobody is going to follow you and nobody will be inspired by you.

Every discussion leads to Jamal Adams. ******* yawn

Literally no other roster is decision is as important/consequential as what happens with Jamal.  Until that gets cleared up, strap in.

Its not like we're the Titans, who are deciding whether to pay their QB, RB, RT and 3 of their Top 4 corners.  Or the Cowboys, who need to decide how much they're willing to pay Dak and Amari Cooper.

We're stuck talking about our stupid Strong Safety.

Literally the least worrisome position on the o-line tbh. Harrison is the only guy on the line who I would feel comfortable with coming back as (relatively) uncontested starter. The two Gs are much more dire of a need. Hit on them in FA, get a T rd1 and double down on best available G or C by the end of rd3.
