3yr/27mil for Poole and call it a day

That's probably about right but $9M per year for a Nickel corner yet people don't want to pay Robby $12-13M per year?  There are some hard decisions ahead fo Joe D. & Co.

This is going to be a very, very tough roster to rebuild and I think fans will need to be patient (Google that word, SOJFs) because we simply cannot fix LT, OG, C, Edge, WR1, WR2, CB1, CB2 in a single offseason.  Several of those spots may end up with "hold the fort" kind of guys or returning some average/adequate starters from last year.....think Kelvin Beachum, Alex Lewis, Jordan Jenkins, etc.  All of whom won't necessarily be cheap either.

Pshaw!!! It really shouldn't be that hard...

Just put @joewilly12 and @SAR I in a room together with a laptop and a couple of phones.

They'll come out in a few hours with a roster loaded with not only every top FA on the market, and lots of extra draft picks,, but we'll also have 4 wins against Buffalo and Miami 6 months before the season even starts.

* I want extra credit for sneaking "pshaw" in there.

$9 million is the highest paid nickel CB. $7 million is closer to what he's worth.  Bryce Callahan got $7 million per coming off a great year in 2018. I'd expect Poole to come in between $6-$7 million. Oh and Robby wants $13-$15 million

Most would settle for a fully rebuilt O line this off season.

simply put 90% of the resources there, that’s where it has to start. Protect the franchise and build out from the trench.

I will assume you’re serious. My guess is that his connection would be more to Douglas than to the Jets originally? However, him calling Douglas to the Jets in 2018, prior to Gase even being signed is interesting.

I will definitely come back and bump this, giving him big props if Poole is re-signed in the coming weeks, even prior to FA. Usually when a team leaks that a signing is “expected” those things tend to happen. It’s almost 99%, and I will provide my own data point on that.... I have a couple of loose connections to the Arizona Cardinals. I knew about two or three days prior to DJ Humphries being extended that it was a slam dunk. There were some leaks and a friend who knows GM Steve Keim mentioned that it was highly likely DJ would return. When people say something like that it means the deal is all but done, just waiting for ink on paper. Hope that is also the case with Poole here!

Ill tell my Aunt Philli. She'll be tickled silly.

It'll be a first step to getting him out of the basement.

Why do people think it’s impossible to upgrade this roster. We have 4 premium picks in the first 100 of the draft. We have enough money to sign 3 premium FA’s. A couple trades ((Adams, maybe Bell and Avery - and you’ve got another 4-5 picks extra). It’s up to JD to hit on his picks and signings which is what a good GM does. The possibilities to plug these holes are various, yet whatever direction, each of these spots can be filled and upgraded: 4 OL, 2WR, an edge, a cb. That’s 8.

Just to cause some chaos.

let me just say that a 6' 4" 240 lb olb that is "new to the game of football" is not what I see as an #11 overall pick for a team with the offensive issues we have. If this happened I would seriously begin to consider that there is an evil spirit that haunts all Jets Front office staff and forces them to draft defense. What the hell else could it be?

either that or Maybe @Hackenberg - Banned was right all along. Cue the psycho music...

Anyhoo here's the highlights of this pos.
