If the Jets had picked Jack Conklin in that draft, which they would have/should have if he was available, we would rightfully be signing him now to a large contract, although likely a tad less than he will get because hopefully we would have extended him last year. The Jets are not paying a QB this year. They can afford a T. If Conklin could play LT, this is a no, no brainer. Even at RT, with a draft pick playing left, it works. If Wirfs or Thomas is not available, trade down for Jones/Cleveland. I would rather do this and draft G, C or sign medium priced ones, and pay the Ts. The Jets should be setting the market for Jack Conklin. He is not worth more to another team than the Jets.
LIJetsFan
Jets should never be setting the market, never.

"he's really well liked in the clubhouse...he's played through a gruesome injury..." 1. He's not liked when he's being the Human Turnstile above. 2. He'd be just as liked on Twitter from wherever he lands. 3. All that has to matter here is whether he can block. He can't. he can't run block. and he can't pass block. He's like having a TE playing OG. Wasn't he injured? AGAIN?! for like the 4th time in 5 years. It'd be one thing if he had any decent size. But he's a shrimp and that's why he keeps getting hurt. He's like the Jets of the late 1980s: small, slow, pretty much useless against elite competition. Winters, however, is not even good against mediocre competition.
