ElBarrioJets
One man's opinion to how we can approach the offseason with FA and the draft worked in. Not working in salaries, but keeping things in perspective and not everything is a sure thing here. That's how most offseasons go and how JD will have to weigh his resources. Draft: 1. Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia 2. Damon Arnette, CB, Ohio State 3. Bradlee Anae, DE/OLB, Utah 3. Tyler Johnson, WR, Minnesota 4. Matt Hennessy, OC, Temple 5. Antonio Gibson, RB, Memphis 6. Ben Bartsch, OG, St. John's 6. Kicker Roster + FA Additions Explained Offense - 25 QB (2) - Keep it to two, bring in Driskel as young depth with starting experience. Sam Darnold Jeff Driskel - FA RB (4) - Bell/Powell come back for another ride, Gibson is the power back, Cannon hangs on again for specials Le'Veon Bell Bilal Powell - FA Antonio Gibson - Rookie Trenton Cannon WR (6) Bringing in Tajae Sharpe as the new #2, Robby is your speedster, and Johnson will provide size in the red zone. Enunwa is the wild card. Robby Anderson - FA Tajae Sharpe - FA Jamison Crowder Tyler Johnson - Rookie Vyncint Smith Braxton Berrios TE (4) - No real changes from last year, Herndon needs to step up Chris Herndon Ryan Griffin Daniel Brown Trevon Wesco OT (4) - Beach is the placeholder until Thomas takes over, Conklin takes over RT, Edoga is the super sub at every spot except OC. Kelvin Beachum - FA Jack Conklin - FA Anthony Thomas - Rookie Chuma Edoga OG (3) - Thuney slides into the new starting spot, Lewis comes back, and Bartsch holds down the backup G spot. Joe Thuney - FA Alex Lewis - FA Ben Bartsch - Rookie OC (2) - Harrison holds the fort this year until Hennessy takes over next year. Or in a perfect world, Hennessy starts and Harrison backs up OG/OC. Jonotthan Harrison Matt Hennessy - Rookie Defense - 25 DE (4) - No changes, this is a solid group Henry Anderson Kyle Phillips Folorunso Fatukasi Nathan Shepherd DT (2) - McClendon is the leader of this team, Quinnen needs to leave his guns at home. Quinnen Williams Steve McClendon DE/OLB (5) - Bring back Jenkins, Anae is your DPR, the depth here is solid. Jordan Jenkins - FA Bradlee Anae - Rookie Tarell Basham Frankie Luvu UDFA ILB (4) - Believe these guys stay the same as well for one more year. CJ Mosley Avery Williamson Blake Cashman James Burgess - RFA CB (6) - Bradberry and Poole are the splashes here, the rest is rewarding guys who played well last year and bringing in young blood. James Bradberry - FA Damon Arnette - Rookie Brian Poole - FA Bless Austin Arthur Maulet - RFA Kyron Brown S (4) - Think they finally let Miles go and Cioffi makes it! Jamal Adams Marcus Maye Anthony Cioffi Matthias Farley Specialists (3) - Draft a kicker to compete with Ficken, and for god's sakes, re-sign Lach Edwards. He's been the best player on the team for this lost decade. Kicker - Draft Pick vs Ficken (ERFA) Punter - Lachlan Edwards LS - Thomas Hennessy Flame away friends. Beerfish
I like what you have covered in the draft, in mocks i am seeing Hennesy seems to go higher. Thomas is my #2 wish for 1st round OT. Not too sure about the Ohio State CB, I don't mind CB there ut not sure about that player. Love the Anae pick and the Tyler Johnson pick, also like Batch and Gibson picks. Would like to squeeze another WR in there somewhere though even with you bringing in sharpe. I am not opposed to drafting a kicker in the last round of our picks. Not a big fan of Driskell to be honest but he is better than simian imo. I don;t think we are going to be able to get Thuney and conklin and if we draft 3 oline we may not need to go that far. Overall a good job, I like your draft a lot.
K_O_Brien
I don't think it is realistic to grab Conklin and Thuney. There will be fierce competition for both. If we sign one, I'll be happy. Tbh, I'd be disappointed if we come away with this stacked wide receiver draft with just Tyler Johnson. No way am I taking a corner in round 2 if we happened to sign Poole and Bradberry in free agency. Everything else looks good, although I too expect Hennessey will go much higher. Nice work.
PepPep
There's just no way we re-sign Jenkins, Anderson, Beachum, and Poole, then on top of that we sign the TOP FA OT in Conklin, the TOP OG in Thuney, the TOP CB in Bradberry. It's just not happening. I don't mind the draft at all but it all depends on FA and, like I said, there's no way FA turns out this way.
BCJet
Going with low-end estimates, Thuney ($14), Conklin ($15) and Bradberry ($15) is quite a bit of cash and then you add Robby ($10), Jenkins ($8) Poole ($6) and Beachum ($6)? Not sure thats even close to possible. I personally think its insane to pay Conklin $15+ million per year. Sure hes a good player but getting someone like Glasglow for $9 per season is a better use of cap space. As for the draft, we need to find a WR who is less of a risk then Tyler Johnson, the kid has red flags everywhere and given how JD values character I can't see him being a Jet. cant wait
Nice draft, I also love Gibson but I don’t think he’s going to last until round 5. I took him in the 3rd in my mock which is higher than I’ve seen him anywhere, but I believe will be close to his actual draft position
BrickTamland
I like it a lot for the defense but I really don’t understand how that team is going to score points. Qb-sure rb-love gibson. Nice ot-love taking thomas. I’d resign shell over beachum personally og-happy with ur crew c-cool with Hennessy and harrisonj wr-very displeased. Tyler Johnson apparently is a dum dum. We can do so much better. Tajae sharpe is talented but I don’t think he’s ever going to be a real thing. This is the only position group which looks bad te-cool dl-cool lb-cool edge-I like Anae on tape but it seems from run at the combine that he’s molasses. I don’t understand the discrepancy so I am confuzzled cb-good to have depth. I think the cb pick unnecessary though when u get bradbwrry. You don’t need great corners to win in this league. They all get fricked over by offensive rules. You just need not-trumaine johnsons S- cool. if you took your offseason and dropped tajae sharpe, changed the Tyler Johnson and cornerback picks for some combo of Duvernay/Pittman/Hamler/Davis I would be very down
BrickTamland
Just realized the CB pick was in the second round too... Some of shenault/reagor/mims/higgins/Jefferson/Aiyuk going to be available

LAD_Brooklyn
Damon Arnette is a first round talent who tested well, however has character concerns that'll have him as a day two pick. Those Ohio State CBs are studs. I like Johnson as well in the 3rd round. The FA signings were sort of unrealistic. With us being the Jets, we'll have the pay the maximum to snatch up any of the top tier guys.
