Wide Receiver wasn't even remotely close to a need for ARZ.

Anyone who watched a quarter of the cardinals last year would tell you that receiver was about #23 on the list of problems on that team.

it was a brilliant move for AZ-fitz is about 150 years old and DJ was washed out and they got Drake who is better at this point. AZ will draft o line early -they are set up nicely now.

I wish the jets had murray drake hopkins

It's crazy Bill O'Brien traded Hopkins for basically a 2nd and then is paying all of Johnson's contract

he is so awful as a coach and why he has control there is crazy

watson probably wants to hang himself now

So we couldn't do Le'Veon and a 2nd for Hopkins and a 4th?

Idk the full details but Johnson's contract is way easier to trade than Bell's. Huston probably created a ton of cap space with this move while the Cards take a hit for Hopkins and Johnson

Wish Douglas could have been in on this. Leveon bell and a 2nd for Hopkins and a 4th

Leveon would have been better than David Johnson for Texans too (in terms of money and how David Johnson has looked recently).

That's who they had previously... if that isn't enough to run that offense WTF... why on earth people were mocking Lamb to ARZ will never make sense to me.

Imagine if someone submits the wrong card on draft day and the Cardinals select Lamb.  Future Hall of Famer Fitzgerald in the slot, a current top wide receiver in the league Hopkins on one side and one of the top wide receiver prospects, Lamb, on the other.  Past, present and future all on the field at once.

What a horrible trade by the texans

They have been saying that OBrian just didn't like Hopkins. That was a friction point between O'Brian and the former GM. Once O'Brian took over the handwriting was on the wall regarding Hopkins.

The Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans agreed to a blockbuster trade Monday that will send All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to Arizona and running back David Johnson to Houston.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reported the Texans will receive Johnson, a second-round pick this year and a fourth-round pick in 2021. The Cardinals receive Hopkins and a 2020 fourth-round selection.

Mind boggling how the owner lets OBrien trade the best WR in football in what really is a WR league

What an absolutely AWFUL trade. I mean this is absolute robbery. How did we not offer anything better than that?

Build around our franchise QB. Getting him players like Hopkins is exactly what this team needed and we missed out. Then we could’ve focused our entire off-season and draft on building that line. This is awful.

How did we know he was availible and why would the Texans want Bell over Johnson?

Yeah but they get him for free and now they’re loaded at WR.

They’re the same player and if JD is supposedly this gem he should know

JOhnsons contract is much better than Bell's in terms of overall value. And if the Texans are playing the full amount they would go with Johnson

UPdate: Spotrac has Johnson with an 11m cap hit compared to 15m for Bell

Rumors came out that Hopkins was available this morning. At least call just to get an idea of their asking price. Maybe JD did tho?

Also, at this point, Le’Veon Bell is significantly better than David Johnson.
