Popular Post ScarletKnight89
This sucks. That's a very reasonable contract when you aren't paying big money for your QB yet. He would have been a great addition to this team. I'm so tired every off season of watching the best offensive lineman and pass rushers sign elsewhere and then hear the Jets beat writers talk about how "the Jets didn't want to go into that price range." as if the Jets are this team with a surplus of talent instead of being a team in dire need of it.

82nd Airborne
I just posted the same. Browns are going to be in the top 10 for sure. 1
Bruce Harper
I'm okay with not way overpaying for this guy. He isn't elite but he's getting elite money, which is what the Jets normally do.
nycdan
Yeah, have to say at that price I'm a little bummed we weren't more aggressive. Of course there's a lot we won't know about this, but I'd have been happy with that deal. Really hoping Glasgow gets done.

nycdan
Does this lessen the odds of CLE going OT with their first pick?

rangerous
14 million per is a long way from the 18 million he was being projected to get. you gotta wonder where the jets offer was.
Lith
Cimini: Jets like him a lot. Mehta: Jets not impressed with him. And these are our top 2 beat writiers?
King P
I had a feeling this would happen. I say stick Edoga at RT, and make a run at Glasgow. Glasgow at C, and a new LT are would be great as far as I'm concerned 2 1

ScarletKnight89
If the Jets want to build a strong offensive line and protect their QB they are going to have to overpay some players in order to do it. That's the price you pay for not drafting well. They need to overpay for a guy like Glasgow. They've got to be aggressive. You aren't going to build a great O-Line by finding bargain players in all 5 spots.

He will be cheaper, can play both slots, and is a much better pass blocker. It would've been a mistake to pay someone who required help on most snaps. And it would've limited whoever we draft to playing only on the left side. Addition by skipping 1
ScarletKnight89
Now let's all sit around and fantasize about Graham Glasgow coming to the Jets until he signs elsewhere as well because the Jets "didn't want to get into that price range" ??? 1
HawkeyeJet
My biggest question with this contract is where would it have left the Jets in terms of other additions this off-season? 20 million in first year is a huge hit for a team with so many needs.

They literally have two legit WR's, just added a legit TE to the offense, two legit RB's, a legit pass rusher on rookie deal and their QB on a rookie deal. The worst part of the Browns is that Oline, acquiring all of that talent only to ignore the Oline would warrant firing Stefanski and Berry the moment they decide to go in another direction. That Oline was terrible under Freddie Bathrooms.

JetNation
For weeks now Jets fans have been hearing that their team was prepared to offer a massive deal to free agent right tackle Jack Conklin, and now we know that whatever that offer was, it wasn’t enough. Jack Conklin agrees to terms with Browns https://t.co/CtZVNoqBY5 — ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) March 16, 2020 Conklin has agreed to terms with the Cleveland Browns, leaving the Jets looking elsewhere for help on the O-line. shuler82
If it’s a $20M year one hit the Jets would’ve had a tough time matching. Their 2020 cap space doesn’t stretch all that far when you consider how few guys we actually have under contract

Not enough unfortunately. Hopefully they're not acting like the what I hear from fans and coveting the money more than the talent that the money should be spent on. What good is saving the money if Sam Darnold is getting killed in Metlife? The fact that Conklin was signed for that amount of money IN FREE AGENCY has me alittle concerned, unless it was a situation where Conklin just said "no" to us.
