Jets: Law expects to be released

February 13, 2006 1:41 PM ET

The News

Jets cornerback Ty Law said Sunday that he believes the Jets will release him in the near future, according to the Kansas City Star. Among the teams on his radar are the Chiefs. "I was supposed to be done, but I put 10 interceptions on they (butt), Law told the Star. "Is the (Super Bowl) window still open for the Chiefs? Can the offense still get it done? And can they afford me and Pat (Surtain)?" Law added that he would be looking for $10 million in guaranteed money if he becomes a free agent.

Our View

Law has a good relationship with new Chiefs head coach Herman Edwards, so a reunion is possible. A backfield with Law and Surtain would be awesome, but count on other teams courting Law should he be released.
