I'm still hoping for an outside chance we trade for Ngakue.

Considering the contract he'd be looking for, I'd only offer our 2nd pick this year for him and maybe throw in a 5th next year. 3rd rd. pick by Jags (69) why haven't our GM's ever found that type of production in the 3rd??

Absurd, maybe the jets would address wr on day 2.  Still a pats homer.

Yeah, I'm blown away by the tone.

Again, the WR corps on this team is among the weakest in the league. Crowder is a nice slot WR (who has been injury prone in the past, btw) and Perriman is an interesting temporary replacement for Anderson. That's what our WRs are right now. No one else is worth mentioning seriously until further notice.

I have no issue taking a tackle at #11 if we think a franchise tackle is sitting there, but the notion that "maybe" Douglas will be inclined to pick a WR on day 2 is borderline delusional to me. Frankly, he needs to pick a WR in the 2nd round or 3rd round, unless we are trading for one.

It's scary how delusional Clowney is in regard to how good he considers himself to be.

It's amazing how one devastating tackle in college has fueled the Clowney myth for the last 6 years.  Is he a good player? Yes.  Is he worth elite money?  Hell no.

Because our last GM took Jachai Polite instead of Winovich.

I also think wr is much more in play at 11, or in a trade back to as far as 15.  The OT the jets can get in the 2nd may be closer to a borderline 1st round prospect than usual b/c of the tackle depth.

I really think a trade back scenario will be in play, where the jets go to 15, get an extra 3rd, and draft one of Jeudy/ruggs/lamb, or maybe someone like Thomas if he falls.  But i don’t see staying at 11, taking a tackle and then hoping someone like aiyuk falls to 48.  That’s not how you add weapons.  Trading back and drafting Jefferson and getting a 3rd rounder is much better use of the draft capital.

Clowney's mindset and a 1 year deal is dangerous for non-competing teams but could make sense if the Seahawks think they can win it all next year.  If they win it all, he does well, contributes to them winning, then it was worth it.  If they don't win, there are two ways it could go which would end up being bad for the Seahawks.  If he plays well, gets double digit sacks, helps them win games, it'll be hard for them to re-sign him again for less than the $20 million.  If he plays poorly, they just wasted all of that money and playing experience for another player to develop.

What would you be willing to trade?

I'm at the point where I really want to keep all of our draft picks and see what Douglas can do

I'd offer our 2nd rounder for Ngokue.  Who in round 2 would be as good as Ngokue?  Our only negative is he will use up our cap space.

I'd offer a 4th for Trent Williams.  Him wanting $20M a year is a pipe dream.

These players don't want to play for their current teams which lowers their price.  Trading them also gives the current teams a load of cap space.

What are we sitting 40mil under the cap? Why not make a run on Clowney? It would be short term and fill a big hole in a big way

Because we're in the beginning of a rebuilding phase. We're not going to contend this year. We need to draft well the next few years, not sign Clowney's.

How would signing someone to a $20 million per year short term deal make sense for a team like us?
