And the next failed Belichick assistant is...

Being no nonsense hasn't helped any of the Belichick assistants to date.  They just come off as d**ks who haven't won anything and thus don't earn respect.

Maybe they should allow for some nonsense for a change.

I think Brian Flores is going to be the most successful of the bunch. Which sucks for us if the LOLphins give him a good team to coach

It seems like all of the Belicheat* disciples fail miserably. It's hard to be Belicheat* without the entire organization enabling and participating in .... cheating*.

so some big headed player spouts off on his coach and automatically that coach is going to be another failed bellichicken assistant.  it's so hard to say.  crennel was a respected assistant who failed as a head coach as was weis.  but these guys were mainly parcells guys.  the bellichicken guys like obrien, and vrabel seem to be doing pretty well.  mangini might have done better if he got more than 3 seasons with the jets.  little joshy is a punk so he would have failed if he came from lombardi.  flores looks like he's pretty good.

i think the thing about bellichicken's former assistants failing as head coaches is a little over blown.  it would be interesting to see how their record stacks up with coaches that came from noll's steelers, or walsh, or parcells, or landry, or shula, etc.

i was hoping he'd fall on his butt since he coaches the doltfins but he showed some real fire in the games i watched and his team did much better than expected.

No he might be fired after this season. I see them going around 4-12.

Pat Shurmur was lauded as a no nonsense choice to coach too. Don`t see Judge changing much of anything as Giants owner and GM seem committed to being leading circus in town.

Judge is inheriting a very good young QB in Jones who has weapons.  If the giants fix that defense they have a chance to be good in what’s turning into a bad division

And I’m a giants hater

Flores showed something winning 5 games with that putrid roster

he also doesn’t seem to be a total pompous jerk like other Belichick disciples

He definitely did but let's remember mangini had success year 1 and Miami's 2019 was a lot like our 2017.  Remember when everyone thought we were tanking and could go 0-17 but we won 5 behind really good play from a vet QB who had no future with us.  Same scenario with Miami last year and we know how awful Bowles was.  Flores still has a lot to prove.

When you don't win, you have no credibility to be a douche.  Belichick has the credentials built up now to be the way he is and get guys to buy in because it's worked for so long.  When you win 6 Super bowls you earn the right to say things like that.  It was the same with Parcells.

The problem with Belichick assistants is they go off on their own and don't try to be themselves, they try to be bill.  It's not going to work like that.  You have to be yourself as a coach because players can see through that facade immediately, and tolerating BS is hard for guys even when you're successful... its damn near impossible when you're perennially losing

It's kind of hard to become a decent coach after learning and being an assistant to a media driven fraud of a hype machine in Belichick who really does stink on the defensive side of the ball for 20 years now (Brady saved him) with overrated defenses who are nothing more than 'overrated hype' with defenses who've ranked...

20th.

24th.

23rd.

7th.

9th.

26th.

6th.

4th.

10th.

11th.

25th,

31st.

25th .

26th.

13th.

9th.

8th .

29th .

21st.

and then finally, a defense that could actually manage to rank;

1st (only took him 20 years lol).

And all of a sudden you realize that Bill Belichick has never been the ESPN media driven defensive guru, defensive mastermind and/or defensive X's and O's "legendary legend" that he's been made out to be (he tricked you into believing in him, but couldn't trick me).

20 years later?

With only one #1 ranked defense?

An average NFL defensive ranking of only 16th (16.4) after a full 20 stinking years of coaching defense? Pathetic!

He's a media driven defensive fraud and once you compared against the likes of a Rex Ryan (who unlike the defensive fraud never once had himself a legendary QB such as a Brady) but yet damn near always coached up top 5 defenses and rarely ever ranked outside of the top 10 while featuring elite defenses who ranked (during his 12 years in BAL/NYJ/BUF) 5th, 1st, 6th, 2nd, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 11th, 6th, 19th & 19th.

12 years and two #1 ranked defenses.

1x #2 rated defense.

1x #3 rated defense.

6x overall with the top 5 defenses.

9 years combined of fielding top 10 defenses (9/12).

Only 3 years with a defense ranked out of the top 10 (3/12).

0 and I mean zero defenses that ever ranked 20th and below.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But yet Belly has already had 10 D's outside of the top 20 while in just N.E alone (lol).
And only 5 top 10 defenses after 20 years!
15 years of outside the top 10 for Belichick?!?
But yet you then question why his assistants have failed once leaving after learning under his trash defensive ways? When the proof is in the pudding (stats)? Hello.
I wonder if Bellichick's assistants go into interviews wearing a cut off sweatshirt, a pencil on their ear and a scowl on their face.  Must leave owners with a vision of Super Bowls trophies hanging all over their offices.
They all mumble under their breath and have innovative ideas like the players playing chess and Tetris during practice
Mangini had a very easy schedule in ‘06 and got exposed the following year.  The Favre trade he opposed actually helped him because it got the  jets to 9 wins before he got injured people still fawn over him like he’s this gem meanwhile he stunk in ‘07 and stunk in Cleveland and no one wants to hire him even as an assistant
    Can we just address the real reason?  They try to be legit without the cheating, and it just doesn't work for them.
No, not @ all (however your post above does undermine your overall knowledge and understanding of Defense along with the history of Football in it's entirely).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Because "Bill Belichick" and his little 20th and 30th ranked defenses do not represent the likes of...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Pittsburgh Steelers Steel Curtain Defenses throughout the 1970's (4 Championships).
1984 San Francisco 49ers (4 Pro Bowlers in their secondary alone; The original Legion of Boom)
85' Chicago Bears Defense (the year I was born ala 'Defense is in my DNA').
1986 N.Y Giants Defense.
2000 Baltimore Ravens Defense.
2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defense.
2008 Pittsburgh Steelers Defense.
2012 Baltimore Ravens Defense.
2013's Legion of Boom (Seattle Seahawks) Defense.
2015 Denver Broncos Defense.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Etc, etc (just to name a few).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And although our 2009/2010 back to back AFC Championship Game N.Y Jets being led by both Rex Ryan and Darrelle Revis failed to win us a Championship they still go down (especially 2009) as some of the greatest NFL Defenses of All-Time in which brought Jet fans nothing but excitement and hope (for the first time dating back to 1998 under Bill Parcells).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Question your own football knowledge before you ever question the definition and meaning of my username. Understood? Good.

Don't ever take yourself too seriously here. It reveals thin skin.

Kind of like suggesting that Bill Belichick does not design good defenses.  That is plain wrong.

I'm just busting your chops man and having a fun time talking Defense @ the same time (while locked inside my home with my wife, daughter, dog and family) but I'm sorry I know great defenses when I see them....

And his N.E Defenses over the past 20 years (2000-2019) have only ranked...

20th. 24th. 23rd. 7th. 9th. 26th. 6th. 4th.10th.11th. 25th. 31st. 25th. 26th. 13th. 9th. 8th. 29th. 21st. 1st (only took him 20 years).

Completely contradict and say otherwise.

As does his 5 defenses with Cleveland ala...

1991: 18th.

1992: 14th

1993: 12th

1994: 7th (finally a top 10 defense).

1995: 24th

• 5 years in CLE with an average of a 15th ranked defense?

• 20 years in N.E with an average of a 16th ranked defense?

25 (combined) years as Head Coach? But yet only 2 top 5 Defenses throughout 25 years?

In comparison to a Rex Ryan who's fielded and coached up 6 top 5 defenses (during only 12 years)...

Bill Belichick has been nothing more than an ESPN media driven fraud (especially on Defense).

Who after a full 6.2 years of head coaching experience (before Tom Brady ever made his 1st career NFL start week 3 vs Indianapolis, 2001) had a career losing record of only 41-57 overall (.418%).

Consisting of only 1 winning season compared to 5 losing seasons and before #12 was even 1-4 All-Time vs. even our lowly N.Y Jets Franchise; absolutely freaking pathetic.
