LAD_Brooklyn
Letting this guy go was a silly mistake. Not sure why Mac wouldn't re-sign the beast. Especially someone who's the captain of your defense. Now last year he was regarded as one of the best ILB in the game. Pretty sure he should make the NFL Top 100.
Popular Post kdels62
Mac didn’t want to overpay a middle linebacker. Why would he overpay a middle linebacker? 1 1 1

Beerfish
We have high priced ilbs, when they went out the guys that took over did fine. ILB is not where you spend your money or draft resources.

KRL
Good for Davis. But let's not get it twisted, he's a rarity who has gotten better as he's gotten older. He was barely average in his first time with the Jets and was slightly better in his second time. Nobody was weeping when he left for NO in free agency https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/14958/demario-davis 3

Defense Wins Championships
Demario Davis is a very good football player however he's been in the league for 8 years with 0 Pro-Bowls and 1 All-Pro First-team selection (31 years old). C.J Mosley is a great football player and has been in this league for only 6 years with 4 All-Pro Second-team and 4 Pro Bowl selections (27 years of age). The reason why he's not a Jet currently is because New Orleans gave him a 3 year contract worth $24 million ($16 million in guarantees, including a $9.2 million signing bonus). Demario Davis is a thing of the past for us Jet fans and can not wait for our future in C.J Mosley within the middle of our Defense moving forward.

Agreed but what’s worse is when you could have just resigned Davis, but instead paid for Avery Williamson and THEN paid for CJ Mosley the year after. I’m completely convinced that Mac had no idea what he was doing. 4

There's not much the entire fan-base can agree on, but that is definitely one of them. 6
BornJetsFan1983
To be fair David was good. Ut our coaches sucked. He goes to NO and they actually use him in a way he can perform. G William's would have loved him.

Add in this dude was the real deal as our caption. 2
Defense Wins Championships
8 minutes ago, nycdan said: James Farrior 2.0? Not even close to the same comparison my man. Demario Davis was a 3rd round pick of ours when compared to James Farrior who was a 1st round pick for us (8th overall). And James Farrior went on to play for 10 years after the Jets (Pittsburgh Steelers) with two All-Pro's (1st and 2nd team), 2 Pro Bowls, 2 SB Rings and voted as Pittsburgh's 2004 team MVP. And to make it worse, we lost James Farrior @ the age of only 27.

Avery Williamson was very good too, and filled in admirably. Unfortunately he was injured last year and with his cap hit, he's likely a goner. Fortunately we have some good players to fill in for him, so all good.
